Tall Ships at Skelletones

Friday night, Brett left earlier than I did to head to the show. I got out of work, got ready and headed out to Rockford to pick up my wedding album (which is great, I do love it). Then I headed out to Skelletones for the show. There were 4 or 5 bands left when I showed up; so I just hung out and had a decent time. Everybody is really nice and it's great to see familiar faces at a show again. I miss the old scene; but this one is great too. Probably better because there is absolutely nobody from my high school in the Grand Rapids hardcore scene. It's super nice. So Tall Ships played last and everybody stuck around to see them; and got into them a lot. I'm super proud of those boys. They're doing a great job with that band. I love going to their shows- it gives my weekends more meaning. Brett's too. Afterwards, we did the usual of heading out to Grand Coney. There were so many people from the show there. All of the bands that played went there to eat; it was packed. We ate and then I headed off early because it was such a late show. We didn't get home until 2:00 am.

Thanksgiving Weekend in Chicago

The next morning, we headed out to Chicago. We got checked into our hotel, which turned out to be a great room. We walked down to the Art Institute and walked around for a while. A lot of galleries were closed and I was actually really bored, compared to last time. I don't know why. We left there and walked around downtown Chicago. We looked in stores all along Michigan Avenue but it was so entirely packed. You couldn't walk without bumping into people. It was so insane. We picked a bad weekend to go really. After we were done shopping, we headed out to eat. We ate at Buca on Rush Street. We got in right away and it was decent food. It was an italian restaurant. We headed back to tht hotel after that because we weren't sure what to do next. So we got in our bathing suits and headed down to the very tiny swimming pool. But we went swimming for a while and went in the hot tub. We stayed down there for a while until we headed back up to our room where he crashed and I was bored and played on the computer and watched the Disney channel.

The next morning, we headed out to the Clark and Belmont area which was fun. We went shopping at Reckless Records, American Apparel and I found my new favorite store in Urban Outfitters. It was so amazing. We ate at Underdog; and then we looked around in stores. We left Chicago earlier than expected. We ate at Steak n' Shake in Indiana and headed back to Michigan. We got home quite early - around 8:30 pm or so.

Fredrick Meijer Gardens

Saturday, Brett and I drove out to Grand Rapids, so we could go to Fredrick Meijer Gardens. It was so much fun! I was there once before as a kid, but it's way more fun to be there as an adult! All of the sculptures there were amazing, and I loved looking around inside at the exhibits. We got a few pictures on the dragon and by the giant horse. Definitely a great day at Fredrick Meijer Gardens!
