Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween, friends!

Yesterday was the Kendall Halloween Lunch/Costume Contest. Such fun as always. I love my school and how we can have one lunch for the entire school. The weather has been beautiful these past two days. Hopefully it will remain for this amazing weekend we have planned. I dressed up like a cat yesterday (three years a charm) My favorite time of the year is here! I remember every aspect of Halloween for the past two years.

2006:
I had class all day at KCAD with the amazing costume party lunch. Ran home after class to grab my razor scooter to race to my car. (got a lot of funny looks from business men) Drove super fast to Grand Haven to be with Brett, to pass out candy to trick or treaters @ his parents, and watch movies in the dark on his couch.

2007:
Worked all day at Beacon Recycling. Got out of work, picked up Domino's pizza, and headed home to eat and watch "Amityville Horror". Passed out candy to the trick or treaters, and sat on the stoop with Brett with perfect weather, and leaves in our front yard. Brett dressed as a banana and I as a cat. His parents came over later to bring us lots of candy, and we watched "The Haunted Mansion" on television. Can't wait to remember this day next year as well. :o)

Apple Orchards

Sunday, Brett and I decided to go to Robinette's (a fall must) We purchased apple cider and two caramel apples. We'll probably end up going back again to get hot cider and our photo by the apple, but the lines were insane. We decided to instead of wait in line, venture off into the orchard, with our caramel apples. It was a gorgeous day outside, perfect for walking. It was quite a long walk first through the orchard, then through the woods. We found a great spot for these photos.

It was a perfect autumn day. I saw on the news that the fall colors are almost at their "peak". I don't want this weather or October to end. It's too perfect.

Day with Jen

Saturday, Jen and I had a day-trip together. She picked me up in the morning, and we headed out toward Fremont. We visited Allie & her beautiful boy, Oliver. [perfection!] Then we went to the mall and bought boots together, and went to dinner with Danielle, Becca & Kaleigh. We ate at Chili's in Muskegon, which was delicious. We went to Walmart and tried on scary masks, and ended up at the beach for a few minutes. My heart lifted as Jen and I drove back into Grand Rapids. That's how much I love my home here.

ps; What are Mario's favorite kind of pants? (denim, denim, denim)

The Dierolf's

Life is so enjoyable.
Brett makes life so much different.
I'm truly content with my life because of him.
He's the perfect person for me.
I knew right away, of course.
But now after more time, it is proven more.
Day after day I spend with him.
I'm absolutely in love with my husband,
my best friend of all time.

He has my sense of humor.
My almost exact personality.
& in what I lack, he makes up for.
And what he lacks, I make up for.
We are going to have so much fun raising kids someday.
We remind me of how my parents were before they split.
Well, I never knew how my parents were,
but in photographs, they looked like they had a blast together.
Except we'll be together until one of us dies.
Even after that.

Brett's 24th Birthday

I had to keep Brett's 24th birthday dinner a secret all day, and convinced him he would be eating a boring turkey sandwich for dinner. But we scootered out to the mall (on the way, perfect perfect weather. scootering under a yellow tree with the yellow leaves falling on us and warm wind was the perfect moment) Brett finally figured it out when he we got into the mall parking lot, as he followed me into Red Robin. :]

Thanks to everyone who came for my old man's birthday. We got the staff to sing and we had a crazy candle from Steve & Diane that bloomed, and played happy birthday music. Afterwards, we went to Peter's to watch "Run Fatboy Run". Quite enjoyable! (I married Brett when he was 22!)

Autumn Chicago Trip

Last Saturday, Brett and I drove out to Chicago for the day. Turned out to be absolutely gorgeous weather. We went to Wicker Park and shopped at Reckless Records, American Apparel & Urban Outfitters. Then we hopped on the L-Train to head over to Clark & Belmont area. We ended up getting on the wrong train and had to walk a million miles, so finally we hopped a bus and made it to our favorite area in Chicago. We shopped at Hollywood Mirror and Brett got an amazing sailor halloween costume. Went to Ragstock & The Alley. Hopped a bus downtown to see Millenium Park. Took photos by the bean, of course.

We walked around stores on Michigan Avenue for a while, before heading back to eat at Rainforest Cafe. It was fun and we had a good time. We hopped a bus back to our car and headed out around midnight. Brett slept and I sang to "Rocking Horse winner" on the way home!

Love+Marriage

We're little kids together.

Grand Rapid's Bridges

Tuesday evening had a wonderful fall feeling. The air was cool but the wind was a little bit warm. Brett and I rode our scooters downtown to take some photos. It was so pretty down by the Grand River. Plus the sculptures and the bridges are amazing. We got to scooter around for a bit and enjoy downtown Grand Rapids.

[i am home.]
In other news: Classes are going great. I'm in love with this semester. I planned my winter 09' schedule [authoring, web design 1, typography 2, creative writing, advanced rheoric] I can't believe I'm into the 300/400 level classes. I'm an old lady. Work is good, friends are great, husband is perfect, life is exactly what I want!

East Lansing

So I headed out to East Lansing to meet up with Andrea and Kimmi. It was such an amazing day that was well needed. Andrea took us to Golden Harvest for breakfast first, which I scarfed because it was delicious. We went out to the mall after that, and walked around for a bit. Looked at shoes, of course. We went out to American Apparel & Urban Outfitters. I never want to leave Urban Outfitters. I got shoes, a scarf & a hat (which I loooove) We went back to her duplex and talked about poops & farts. (which I also love, hahaha) We took some amazing photographs. aka;

Then we headed out to Eastwood Mall, and walked around DSW, Banana Republic, Forever 21 (got some cheap earrings!) and went back to the duplex to sit around, giggle, learn some sweet photoshop tricks and eat amazing pizza.

SUCH A GREAT DAY! Love those girls to death.
