Tall Ships Mini Tour

The Tall Ships Mini Weekend Tour was such a blast. Friday night, Tim, Matt, Brett and I headed out to Mount Pleasant for the first show with Tiger, Under Anchor, Today I Wait, +more. It was a good time and I got to hang out with Andrea which is always lovely. After the show, we ate at Lil' Chef which was the worst restaurant ever. And then we stayed the night at Brent's house. The night was full of farts and butt-cracks. (typical for being with these boys)

The next day, we hung out for a while at Brent's and then headed out to Traverse City. The roads were terrible but I slept most of the way. We got there and headed to "Sound it Out" records. I got a couple of really old compilations that are amazing. The show was pretty good again; I had a lot of fun. Tiger, Under Anchor, Fight It Out, So Be It & Tall Ships played. Tall Ships made the decision without my input for Tieka Ships - so I did that for the third time. :] Always fun. We were going to stay the night, but we ended up going home, which was really nice. We got home around 2 in the morning. Great weekend. Love our friends to death.

Grandma Veltman

I got a call on Tuesday from my mom saying my favorite grandma, Grandma Veltman passed away. She was really ill for quite some time. They couldn't figure out what was wrong with her at the hospital. She was able to go home, but she stopped eating and didn't want to open her eyes. So I think it was her time. I love her so much. I grew up living with her and my Grandpa for a while, because my life was in such shambles at points. And she gave me hope for a happy life. Her and my Grandpa gave me the idea of the marriage I always wanted. And now have; thanks to the inspiration they gave me. Although I'm sad to lose her; I'm glad that they're together again. (but I'll miss her everyday, just like I do Grandpa)

Roller Skating Party

Sunday was the Kaline/Tall Ships Roller Skating Party! We all met up at Tarry Hall Roller Rink and spent our Sunday afternoon from 2-5 pm on roller skates. It was a total blast. Fast skate, races, "dead-bug", trios, couples, neon painted walls. So many kids showed up and it was awesome. I love our group of friends.

Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day! Brett and I went grocery shopping, caught an early movie and got some pizzas to sit at home and watch "Forrest Gump". Pretty low key because Brett has been sick :/ Poor kiddo. But it was a good day :)

2007; two valentine's days ago.

Kendall College

I picked Kendall College of Art & Design without knowing much about it. I loved that it was a small college, the building was so unique, downtown Grand Rapids was the campus, the kids were just like me. I could have never blended in with a large university. It just wouldn't match my personality; and I wouldn't have gotten the personal experience from it all. My classes have been amazing. My professors have been amazing. The kids I've met here have been some of the best. I love the content of my classes, the days spent on projects, the weeks sitting in front of this computer outputting so many great ideas. I couldn't have picked a better college to fit me. I planned my first semester out for my senior year. My senior year. I have one of my huge six-credit senior courses. I can't believe it... by this time next year, I'll be on my last semester here. Time flies by when you're having a complete blast.

Tall Ships 1st Mixtape Show

Tall Ships had their first show at Mixtape on Sunday. I didn't stay long; I caught Make it Clear, Reinventing Yesterday & Tall Ships. For the Fallen Dreams also played, but I went to watch "Desperate Housewives" with Jen instead. It definitely felt different than Skelletones. Not necessarily bad, just different. The one bonus I do like is having the merch in the same room; so I can watch merch and bands at the same time. But yeah, it's just the beginning!

Andrea's 23rd Birthday

We went out to Lansing for Andrea's birthday on Saturday. We headed out to Eastwood Mall first to look around. Peter and Andrea met up with us and then drove us to downtown East Lansing so we could go shopping. I love shopping there. I spent too much money as usual. We went to Starbucks for a while to hang out, and meet up with some of Andrea's friends. Afterwards, we sat at the duplex for a while, then headed back out to Eastwood area to go to P.F. Chang's. Delicious! I was so excited to go there. It's been years and I loved it. I had a great day. :]

[happy birthday cutie!]

Pinched Nerve

So, I'm truly a hypochondriac.
I've been having this issue with my left calf.
It feels numb, pins-and-needles sensation,
and just plain aches and feels awful.
I finally gave in and scheduled an appointment.
I seriously loved the smell of the doctor office.
I felt so great waiting there in my underwear
for the doctor to come in to confirm my worst fears.
(I swear earlier.. I was reading up on numbness..
and how it can lead to amputation.
I seriously started getting upset.
Like... "I don't want to lose my leg!")
(ps; take this from the girl who
thought she was turning albino
from a band-aid tan mark on her arm!)
But anyway, he performed some tests on it.
Clunked it with some metal objects
and rolled a creepy saw object on it
that was pure torture.
He said he assumes it is just a pinched nerve
(like I had thought)
and said I was fine to work out
(I gave it up last week and started feeling depressed!)
and told me to start taking vitamin b complex.
I seriously felt a high walking out of the doctors!
Like I was a new person.
So all of this leads me to believe..
I truly am
a
hypochondriac.

Groundhog Day

This morning, Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow
bringing in six more weeks of winter.
Which brings us right up to the end of March.
Woop.
Thanks a lot, Phil.
I need spring early! Like... March 1st early.

(Did you know Phil is only correct 39% of the time?)

I find it hilarious how people get so angry.
"Like omg; how can a rodent alter the calendar?"
Get a life!
It's a fun thing to do; a fun tradition.
There is a thing called fun.
Especially in the bleak, harsh beginning of February winter.

I believe you, Phil.
Especially here in Michigan.
