February sun

It's only Tuesday? Eww! Not even half way done with the week yet! I am in dire need of spring break. Not that I'm going anywhere, but I just need the break and maybe the spring of it? That'd be lovely! We've had lots of sunshine though.. and all of the snow we just recently got is melting and dripping off the buildings onto your head as you walk. I'm so excited for spring.. you guys have no idea! I need it! So many great things come with spring this year.

Last night, I was trying to come out with some outfits for the week and everything I threw together was so spring. My bare legs looked so tempting.. I didn't want to throw on any tights (I know. Me? The tights queen?) but man.. I can't wait for bare legs, but I don't think I can quite pull it off yet. Everyone in the city looks at me crazy enough for wearing these guys on my legs. And quite surprisingly, I'm not at all cold today. My Michigan legs must be tough. I'd have to say these are my favorite tights of all time.. and they are on sale at ModCloth today for $11.99 too, I see! Love them.

(dress - forever 21 | tights - courtesy of modcloth | boots - urban outfitters
cardigan - the limited | scarf - courtesy of modcloth)

Quite the simple outfit today! I felt like Pocahontas in these boots. I really love them though. They were $20 down from $149 at one of the Urban Outfitters sales I went to just a month ago or so! Very warm, very comfy for walking around downtown. Never under estimate the power of flats! I feel like I need to do a few more posts about my life life, but I haven't had much of a life lately. I'm so busy with work and school and driving. When Brett and I do actually hang out, it's to catch up with our parents, catch a movie and clean the apartment and grocery shop. I can't wait until life slows down and I can start doing more posts about our lives. That's the whole reason I started this blog anywho!

I agree, every outfit I put together or buy has some floral print or soft, pretty color. Spring just needs to be here!!

Oh, the lack of a life life. I too lament the same thing!

I think the red cardigan and scarf here have just enough of the spring look in them to compliment the tights and boots. Soon, young lady, soon you will be able to go bare legged! (Well, I could be wrong, I'm not sure about Michigan weather patterns...)

Have you seen any good movies out with Brett lately? I really wanna see Shutter Island!! You go see it and gimmie a review :) Let's pray the midwest don't get no mo' snow!

P.S. As above, the red cardi is great. I have a white American Apparel cardigan and I never wear it, it's too red. I bought some iDye off UO.com, and the process is weird, but I really want a red cardi and you've convinced me to go for it! If I ruin my AA sweater - I blame you! ;) jaykay

I was just looking at one of my class syllabi today to find out when our Spring Break is. It's in two and a half weeks--which I still think is too far away. Damn! I love tights, but I hate getting them on. Anthropologie sells the best tights and they're thicker and warmer than what I'm used to. I just got a bunch on sale.

aaww i hope you do get a break!!!! i on the other hand just need some warmer weather!!!! i wish the snow would start melting here too. but we just had -25 degrees awhile ago. no melting snow for that!!!! aackk!

so i can't wear tights and boots anymore...time for flip-flops and shorts!

In case you had no idea - your boots are awesome. I'm on the same boat - I definitely feel a huge need for spring.

those boots are absolutely fantastic!

i live in tights. which doesn't always work when you live in sunny southern california where the normal temp is 75... ;) although, yesterday i put on a sundress and sat in the sun for a while and it felt REALLY good. except, now i'm realizing i need to do some leg exercises, they're not looking so great right now. ;)

kate maggie said...

tieka! you are so cute. thats funny you want bare legs..when more than anything i just want it to be cold enough where i can wear tights. :)

i love your boots! you look so colorful and nice!

I love that scarf! I have the biggest collection of scarves and can never wear them here. Damn desert! I always pack them to go down to the city (which is a lot cooler than here).

Totally know what you mean about not having a life right now to write about. I'm afraid I won't have one of them until next year.

Wow - $20! You guys have the best sales. And they looks great on you :)

I would gladly take Michigan's snow for the rest of this winter! I love it, even though Gavin is already sick of it!

And I do feel semi-silly posting about it being so awesome and a big deal....but I guess it would be like other people making a big deal about it being over a 100 degrees is summer...that's nothing here!

what a greal deal on these boots! lucky girl. I am so ready for spring, I, like you, had plaaned out my weekly outfit ideas, all involing spring attire, and BOOM a huge rainstorm.

People think I'm crazy too! Just today this random girl asked me "how do you wear dresses/skirts everyday? Don't you get cold?" Yes I get cold, but it's worth it! I hate pants, skirts and dresses = sweats but cuter, at least in my opinion. I'm as comfortable in them as I am in sweats, if not more!
