Boyden House

I'm always thrilled to post my Thursday outfit posts because I know we're so close to the weekend. Ah, yes! I'm so excited. Especially because this weekend looks so relaxed. I need a relaxing weekend. We don't have any plans other than to catch a movie on Friday and spend Saturday with family visiting from Montana. I'm going to sleep in.. and plan nothing else! Ah.. life in the slow lane is good!

Brett must love flowers lately. Every time I'm walking to a new spot, I'm expecting him to be behind me.. but he's bent down zooming in on some flowers. I think for the past three shoots, I have some type of pretty flower picture he took to post! Wee! We visited the Boyden House tonight. There are so many historic, gorgeous homes in our neighborhood. This one happens to be a bed and breakfast. I peeked in the windows and it looks so amazing. I need to stay there, even if it is in my own town just down the street from our apartment!

So I nearly fainted when I was able to find and purchase these shoes for half off! I've been lusting after them for so long. They were originally $120 and I bought them for $60! I couldn't resist. It was an impulse splurge. The most I've ever spent on shoes were my Jeffrey Campbell lace up boots and I bought those for $100. I must have a huge thing for Jeffrey Campbell, because I won't splurge like that for anyone else! But these are perfect. They are vintage-inspired, gold studded, mixture of wood and black (brown and black is my favorite color mix) and I'm just in LOVE. They fit like a gem (I'm a 7.5 and I ordered an 8) I couldn't love shoes more.. well maybe now it's a tie!

(belindas dream sweetheart dress - c/o shop ruche | belt, bag - urban outfitters
splendid sandals - jeffrey campbell)

I got this dress so long ago! I'm so terrible right now with a back up of clothing in my closet, but I can't complain about that! Too many clothes is never a bad thing! Too little clothes? That's a different story. I love this floral printed dress from Shop Ruche. I just splurged there again.. their Moroccan Escape collection drew me in - and I couldn't leave without getting the shirt tunic and a leather ring! Ah, I know exactly when I'm going to wear it too! Well, have a wonderful weekend guys or gals! Be on the lookout tomorrow for a special giveaway! And oh! This is my last outfit of spring! Man oh man.. ! I cannot believe summer starts next week officially!

That house looks amazing, I can't wait to hit up all the historical houses in Detroit this summer. I want to live in all of them and wear old timey dresses!

Love the outfit, glad you got it out and wore it!

ok, ive been stalking those shoes like...in a SERIOUS WAY. im just curious how hard it is to walk in them? i read some reviews and lots of the comments were they were just too tall for some gals...and im a tad on the clumsy side (ok more than a tad!). if its like walking on stilts, i might have to pass. but they are so awesome!

anyway, you look great in them! xo

Those shoes are gorgeous -- so fantastic that you got them for a good deal. This outfit is really beautiful -- I love the floral pattern of your dress.

I laughed at the part about Brett taking photos of flowers...Jeremiah does that too, except with animals. Whenever he sees a squirrel or an interesting bird, he'll attempt 6-7 shots every time we're at the farm park :)

Just wanted to give you the heads up that you can hear the whole album on NPR's Exclusive First Listen for free. I don't want to post a link here, but I think you could just google "NPR Exclusive First Listen" and it would pop up. Enjoy!

Love the shoes on you Tieka!! They look amazing with that dress. I love pairing them with florals.

I'm jealous that you got such an amazing deal on them and that you could wear the 8. I was stuck between the 7 and 8, and went with the 7 since the 8 was a bit too big. Sadly, the 7 still pinches my toes a bit.

I loove your outfit. And funny thing about it: I have something similar planned, but with a palysuit instead of the dress + a hat. But the colors are almost identical..just waiting for my Jeffrey Campbells to arrive in the mail :)
