Last day in NYC

For our last day in NYC, Elizabeth and I didn't have any fashion-related events, which was kind of refreshing! So, of course, I wore my most comfortable outfit! We headed down to check out a couple of shops - checked out some vintage and got some expensive but yummy gelato from Grom! It was the perfect temperature - so we just walked back to our hotel. I honestly don't mind walking miles in the city - there's so much to look at!

(jeans - gap | black tee - express | flats, buckle bag - urban outfitters)

If you follow my Twitter, you read about how I bought the most comfortable jeans on the planet. Seriously. I paid a nice penny for these ($70) which is awful for jeans (in my opinion) but I couldn't leave the store without these! They feel like jammies! They are Gap's version of the "jegging". So stretchy, but look just like a perfect pair of skinny jeans! I loveee them.

After walking around the city for a bit, we met up with Annie, Annie and Morgan to head out for a BBQ dinner at Hill Country. It was such a unique place for some good old fashioned barbeque! We had a giant plate of meat, sweet potatoes, collared greens and some very yummy cornbread! I washed it all down with a root-beer! Mmm! After saying our goodbyes, Elizabeth and I headed back to the hotel to pack up for our next day of travels home! Let me just say, it was amazing staying with Elizabeth all week. She's honestly one of my best friends - and she made the week 10x more awesome. Be sure to head over to her blog - she's about to leave on her Brave trip and she's going to have the best adventures EVER.

You look so cute Tieka! I'm obsessed with Gap jeans too, I think they're so comfortable. I've lived in nyc for a little over 2 years now and i feel much the same way about walking in the city - it's so alive and there is just always something going on. Hope you had a good weekend!

Love this outfit. Simple and classic is alway my favorite.
I paid a pretty penny for my Gap jeans too, I waited until they had a jean sale and they were still $50...but they are heaven!

I've been meaning to try Gap's jeggings! I've heard nothing but good things about them, and they have looked fantastic on everyone I've seen them on so far! Worth the investment!

I adore the buttons on that shirt, and how they're spaced differently. What fun! You've always got the chicest simple outfits.

i'm not really a jeans person, but when i do wear them i will ONLY wear gap jeans. i have a curvier lower half but a smaller waist, and i always have the worst time finding pants that fit. thank god gap knows how to construct a good pair of jeans! the fit is always perfect, plus they make "ankle" length for the shorties. ;) it's so worth paying $70-$80 for a great pair... and the great thing is, they will last forever! i have a pair that i got 6 years ago and they still look fantastic!

I'm happy that you're going with olive greens for fall. They looks great on you! I remember wondering when I saw you in this outfit if you were going to post it, I'm glad you did. I like you in jeans!

BBQ was great, It was so nice meeting you and getting to chat over the weekend. And who knows maybe I'll be popping over to michigan before the next nyc fashion week!

Oh come on, us Michiganders are totally fashionable haha! I love these jeggings/jeans I saw some ads for them and wondered about how good they were. I always hate how skinneys get all baggy after a couple wears and maybe jeggings won't do that. Anyway, you look cute! I'm glad you all had fun! :) And I love the bag!

My favorite looks from people are usually the ones that involve too much effort. I love how relaxed you look, but still chic at the same time.

Outofseasonface said...

Tieka, you look absolutely gorgeous in this post and all your NYC posts! I tried the Gap jeggings not too long ago, and absolutely loved but I just couldn't justify the dent it would make in my pocket haha. Also, thats the best part of NY, the walking! One time I walked from 125th st all the way down to 5th street and it felt like only an hour had passed hehe.

The jeans are super cute! I love Gap jeans and don't feel bad about spending a bit more money since I know they will hold up well and I'll wear them a lot. Gotta figure out that cost-per-wear, girl!
