So, this weekend, I decided to try out my curly hair to see if it would still actually curl. Note to self? Never wear hair curly ever again! Oh my gosh. It was so 80s! So of course, I just make matters worse by dressing in the craziest 80s outfit ever. Brett couldn't stop laughing! Even his parents gave me a double look saying I didn't even look like the same person. I know, I know. I'll stick to my straight hair and bangs from now on! I'm so jealous of girls who have ringlets like I used to have!
I really love these new shorts though. I can just imagine them in spring with no tights and a floral top, cute strappy heels and my new floral socks. I ordered them a size up so they could be a little baggy for spring/summer! I'm always inspired by Greer when she wears her jean shorts!

So, I've been super busy lately with ramping up the Delightful Dozen and taking on new clients for blog design! The Delightful Dozen will be launching our new website on March 1st. I'm so excited and have been planning and getting everything ready. We'll be having a 12-hour launch party with a post from each member and giveaways to boot! I'll be announcing it more through the week, so stay tuned!
Have a great rest of the week! It's been awful with snow and freezing rain here, I'm so over it. These pictures were taken on Saturday before the storm hit. I just want some clear roads. I don't even care if it's 0 degrees... just no more snow! I'm hoping we have decent weather for the Michigan Blogger Meetup this upcoming Friday. I'm so excited to meet new girls in the area!

No pressure or anything, because I love the way you look with straight hair and bangs, but if you did want to go for curly, I think the 80s vibe could be easily eliminated with a different cut. Your waves are good, no mistake.

Ah, Tiek I love it!!! I think you should wear it like this more often, it's always fun to change up hair styles. I've been wearing my hair more naturally too lately, back to its wavy, thicker self. I've actually liked it a lot more, except its been so humid in the mornings, which adds even more waves and volume!!
Anyway, glad to see you had so much fun playing into the 80s theme. You've got the right idea, style shouldn't be taken so serious!

I think you're hair looks cute! Here's a tip from a curly-haired girl though: I use DevaCurl hair gel (scrunch it through while hair is still wet) and then I literally twist it with my fingers into ringlets. Try it!

Embrace your waves! We have very similiar hair and it has taken me a long time to embrace it...of course I have the days where I wouldn't step foot outside without a blowout due to crazy, uncontrollable weirdness but it's the perfect summertime look!

So, not sure if this will help but, I have extremely curly hair (ringlets I guess you could say) and the way that I get my hair that way is to NOT brush it while it's wet. just kind of ring it out when you get out of the shower and just immediately shake it out, scrunch with gel, then put a little hair spray and let it dry.
I think your hair looks great here though, but just a little suggestion you could try if you feel like it!

As a curly girl myself I rarely straighten my locks. I think you look really iconic, curls just make looks for me. But I'll admit it. I'm biased, I'm a Texas girl and my hair was always naturally perfect for me. I've moved to the east coat and taken my big-hair-loving ways with me.

Yeah, you still look good with a curly hair Tieka. I like the second photo, not an 80's hair at all. At least when you wear your hair curly it's not frizzy. Mine's difficult to manage so I just often put it up in a bun. You look great! :-)

I am agreeing with almost everyone else - wear the hair curly sometimes! It's super cute. I had been straightening my hair for literally a decade and just finally got a cut last week that looks cute curly also. It's hard to get used to but definitely keep rockin it! My stylist said this of the curles, which is true for you also - women pay hundreds to get curls like yours, so just rock them and be proud! haha
