This past weekend, we headed down to Battle Creek to go to Binder Park Zoo! I had never been before and it was a lot of fun. We have a really great zoo in our city, but sometimes it's nice to experience a new place! This zoo had tons of walking trails and you could take a train to get to certain parts! We went with our good friends, Jesse & Taylor, and just had a simple, fun day at the zoo!
We were able to purchase lettuce to feed to the giraffes! It was so crazy how their tongues stretched out to get their food! Brett got drooled on. It was super fun. It was definitely the highlight of our trip! I always really love the monkey exhibits though. My favorite animal at the zoo is the gorilla. Binder Park Zoo didn't have any gorillas though. Bummer! I think the next zoo I want to check out is Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago!
I kept it very simple with my outfit. It was pretty warm outside and I wanted to wear flats for walking all day. I received this dress via the Delightful Dozen. It's Starr's and I'll be doing a post soon with how each of us have styled it up so far! It's just a perfect, striped summer dress that is easy to throw on and feel comfortable. I felt super odd without a belt though. Haha!
I made a fun little video for our day at the zoo, so I hope you enjoy that! I absolutely love taking and editing video. It's definitely something I want to get more into as soon as some of my time frees up. I feel constantly busy. I cannot believe we're coming up on the 4th of July. If I blink a few more times, summer will be over!

I love going to the zoo with my hubby. All the wildcats are my fave. We have an ok zoo here but the one in Auckland has better features and you can feed the giraffes like in this one too! Looks like you had fun. I am loving seeing all your beautiful summer weather at the moment. Oh and one more thing before I go- I met your bloggy twin the other day (Eleanor) and she was a delight :) x

Aren't zoos the best?! It such a fun way to enjoy the afternoon. My zoo just recently built a tiger exhibit so I'm thinking about taking a trip over there soon:)
I've been here before!!! It was the first time I'd seen a chipmunk and they're not even part of the exhibit. When I went you fed them these crackers, not lettuce. I love their tongues. Some of them are really black! I loved your video at the end! You should do that more often.

Awww, that red panda is adorable, just hanging out! To be honest I prefer the Detroit Zoo over the Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago. Although both have their own charms.

Let me warn you, Lincoln Park Zoo isn't a very good zoo. If you're coming out this way a better one to go to would be Milwaukee Zoo or Brookfield Zoo. Racine Zoo is also very nice - small, but nice. :) Eithe r Milwaukee or Brookfield (I can't remember which) had a really cool tram ride, thingy (I'm terrible with names) above the walk ways below. My family did it a few years ago. It was so fun! I highly recommend it! And I'm pretty sure it was Milwaukee now that I think about it... But don't quote me on that!

I love the stripes with stripes, Tieka! Looks like a fun day. Lincoln Park Zoo is also a lot of fun, although not as much green space as this zoo has.
