An old silo

Happy weekend, everyone! Well... for me at least. I'm off for five whole days! I'm so excited. I have an amazing weekend planned for us. We're up to all of our old tricks - lighthouses, off the beaten path tourist traps, historic villages, shipwrecks, festivals... and lots of cherries. Can anyone guess whereabouts we're going in Michigan? We'll be leaving tomorrow morning and heading back home before the 4th, so we can spend it with friends in the city. So excited!

We've had some storms rolling in tonight. It's been a pretty strange summer so far. It's been cold, then super hot, then stormy, then cold, then sunny. The weather can't figure itself out yet! I'm not complaining about tonight though... the atmosphere was amazing. We took a drive down past the beach and the sky was so dark. June gloom had to hit one more time before July arrives tomorrow!

This is probably my favorite outfit I've worn in the past few months. Lately I've been taking the simple route with my outfits and I've been getting a little bored! Sure it's easy to throw on a pair of jeans with a simple top, but it's not any fun! When I first started blogging, I was a lot more daring... and dressed how I wanted despite the crazy looks and I want to get back to that point. Here's to a summer full of wearing exactly what I want to wear... everyday!

This skirt is probably my favorite skirt ever... and it's not even mine! It's going around to the girls in the Delightful Dozen currently. The length, the print, the material, the shape... everything about it is perfect. Do you think the girls would notice if I didn't ship it off to the next person? Hehe! So far Julie and James have both styled it up... you can see how they wore it at our Facebook page!

I hope you all have an amazing 4th of July weekend! I'll be back on Tuesday with tons of outfit photos from our crazy, adventurous weekend. Be safe and enjoy lots of sparklers, BBQ, fireworks, friends/family and fun!

Love Ballad Top c/o ModCloth

I love these patterns together! And the heart ring is so perfect with the heart print! I have a bit of love for hearts. ;)

I'm trying to get back to wearing more daring outfits as well- I'm kind of in a rut because I'm always so tired in the mornings. Maybe I should start planning the next day's outfit at bedtime!

It's already swarming with crazy here in Traverse City. The carnival rides are poised to run, and the beaches are full of people.... it's my favorite weekend to LEAVE my hometown and find a quieter beach! (but enjoy it!)

Sounds like a trip to Traverse City is in the works? Just a guess ;) My best friend is getting married there in October and I can't wait - I'll get to spend some time in GR for Art Prize, then go to TC, and then spend a day or two in Frankfort! Perfect. (I miss MI way too much now that I'm in NC.) Love, love, love your outfit here and with the location you chose it looks like a magazine spread! Have an awesome weekend :)

We had the most amazing storms by my house last night! Tons of huge trees were knocked down, and the neighborhood was littered with branches! We, and a bunch of other people lost power, but luckily for us we are on the same grid as the hospital. It, of course, have generators, so everyone in it is ok, and it means we get our power back asap! :D

This outfit is lovely! You mixed prints beautifully! <3

Your weekend sounds like lots of fun! I can't wait to see all your pics!
