Tunnel Park

Brett and I took a little trip south to Holland, Michigan to grab a bite to eat and to check out Tunnel Park! My dad told me about this park a while back and we've been meaning to go. We got there and you had to hike up a few stairs to get to the beach. It was so pretty! We couldn't find the tunnel though... and we had to walk down the beach a little bit to find it. It's always fun when you see something you've only seen in photos before. I don't know, maybe it's just me but it feels like an adventure!

Brett and I were snapping photos and we hear this guy singing quite loud... and his little kids making these howling noises! We couldn't see them, but we were cracking up when they came out. The guy looks at us and laughs and says, "It's the highlight of Tunnel Park!" Whenever you sing or shout in the tunnel, it is so loud and echoey! As soon as they got to the beach, they turned around and went through it again. So funny!

I received this so-cute floral dress from Chloe Loves Charlie! It's so Tieka. Sleeves, twirly, cut-out details on the back, florals. I could live in this dress. It's so comfortable... and the perfect length. I have so many dresses that are just way too scandalous to wear to work... or without tights even! It's really refreshing to have a dress you can slip on and not worry about. Especially come summer when I don't feel like layering much. It's been staying 70's here, so tights are still fine, but in a few weeks they definitely won't be!

I've been trying to plan weekends for trips and what not... and I cannot believe how fast summer is filling up! I've been trying to arrange a weekend to head down to Philly with Andrea to see Veronika... and even August is full already! It's so crazy how you wait months and months for summer to arrive and when it comes... it goes so quickly! I even started looking into hotels for New York for fashion week! I wish I knew the exact dates of events... haha! Anyone else going this year?

Be sure to head over and enter the Blowfish Shoes giveaway if you haven't already! I think this might be my biggest giveaway ever! I remember my first one... I was so excited when I hit over a hundred comments! Haha, aw. The simple successes you have when you start your blog. I'd seriously relive it all over again. It has been a blast!

That dress looks so good on you and really comfy. The floorboards in tunnel park really add alot to the photos too. You always have such cool locations for your photos.
I'm pretty new at blogging so I'm just happy when I get a few comments! Haha, but you really deserve such a following.

You look amazing Tieka! I love the floral print on you, stunning as always! That is too funny about the guy and his kids in the tunnel! We go to the mountains every winter and there is a tunnel we drive through everytime we go- we always scream and honk the horn the entire time we are in there! Haha :)

I hope I get to go to NYFW someday and meet you!

Seriously, how cute can you get?? I agree with the commenters here: the dress really brings out your gorgeous eyes. <3 and I love love love the silhouette shots!

On a different note... I had a dream that you had babies. Lol. Twins, a boy and a girl (a little Tieka and little Brett!). You dressed them up so cute and took photos of them and started their own style blog. Hahaha. I'm sorry, I always get these weird, random dreams about bloggers I follow! :D

Oh this is so cute! I need dresses like this for work/everyday too. I feel you, I feel like F21, UO etc even Mod Cloth are either selling maxi's or super short dresses. I really like the grey-green tights with the heels, super cute!

Geez there are so many places in MI that have not been to. I feel like I should pimp out my side of the state a little more haha!

I really want to go to fashion week but I have no clue when everything is. I am also trying to schedule a vacation to the UP this year and it is insane.

Haha, sorry for the mini book! :P

I sooooo want a dress like this! I have been looking for one with bow cutouts on the back, however the ones I have found have all been too darn short.I mean I like showing some leg but not all leg!
Anyways really liking the photos and I hope to see more.

This dress fits you so perfectly well! I just love your blog, every time I see a post I get so excited because you're exactly the person that I dreamed of becoming when I was a little girl (err... sorry if that sounded creepy, it's meant to be a huge compliment from me). Either way, I think you are amazing, delightful and your sense of style is so humble and refreshing. Thank you for always being a source of inspiration!

I love Tunnel Park! We went there every Sunday growing up. The stairs you mentioned (south of the tunnel) were always fun too. We used to climb them (took forever as a kid!) and then run as fast as we could down the sand dune...and usually end up rolling down it. When I went there more recently, the stairs on the side of the lake were a lot shorter because they are now buried in sand. The beach never stays the same, but it is always beautiful! Nothing like a sunset there! Thanks for sharing your pictures!

i love all your outfits...i'm especially envious of how great you were tights. how do you find the right combo of tights vs dress material that won't get caught between your legs or slips (if people even wear those anymore) that don't ride up or show underneath? help please!

My Dutch husband and I are finally going to Holland, MI this week! We're staying in Douglas in a lakehouse with my family....and I'm actually excited! Your blog has convinced me that I don't need to go to the beach to have a great vacation! I'm sad we'll miss tulip season, as we did last summer when we visited the ACTUAL Holland, but I'm looking forward to see what kooky Dutch stuff we'll find!

Thanks for making me appreciate the things close by!
