A hint of autumn

Ever since I returned home to Michigan after fashion week, I've been baffled at how much changed while I was gone! I left in the summer and returned to full blown autumn! I absolutely love this season more than anything. Many of you have said that my autumn posts are your favorite and I can't wait for this year's posts. I sat down and wrote out so many ideas and fun adventures. It's going to be an amazing season.

I received this so cute wrap bracelet from Lee La La! I love the vintage-inspired button. All of her pieces are super unique and girly - just what I love! She also has a blog that you can check out! I've been holding this dress hostage from last winter. Brett and I took a trip to Ann Arbor and stopped into one of my favorite stores, Ragstock, and I picked it up. I love the peter pan collar, but for some reason this dress was challenging to style! I'm so picky with my outfits matching my settings and this one just didn't really give off a certain feel. Haha!

It's always really refreshing coming back from fashion week and getting back to my normal posting. I always feel inspired when I get home to ramp up my blog, which is perfect, because autumn posts are my favorite and I want them to be the best! Summers are amazing, but sometimes it's so hard to have a personal style blog because you feel guilty just throwing on a simple dress... but that's all you feel like wearing when it's so hot and muggy outside! I'm looking forward to layers and tights and boots and socks. Eee!

Outfit details:
Ragstock peter pan collar dress
Marshalls army green coat
Betsey Johnson black tights
Wrap bracelet c/o Lee La La
Cuvette flats c/o Blowfish Shoes

When I left for New York the trees were green, and when I got back they were all turning orange and yellow! I couldn't believe how much changed in just one week! Looking forward to seeing all your fall adventures that you've planned. :)

I know exactly what you mean about autumn being the best season for having a personal style blog. I absolutely ADORE layering too, which isn't really something you can do during the hottest days of summer.

I really love the way you paired that dress with the jacket...and those flats are super cute! I'm definitely looking forward to seeing more of your autumn posts. :)

Oh gosh, is this dress the prettiest thing ever or what?! I love it paired with that jacket.

The lighting in these pictures is so beautiful and I'm a teeny bit jealous that autumn is starting up for you.. I'm so torn between whether I love autumn or spring more! Eeek. Hehe.

Great job at matching your dress to this location. It just seems right, for some reason. And I love those flats!! I saw them on the website and they didn't really appeal to me, but now I have to have them!! Also, my dog (the evil one) ate my tan flats so I need to replace those with something;) hehe..

Each year I too look forward to autumn but am so suprised at how quickly it comes and goes. Maybe that's why it's such a beloved season because it's such a short one.

I just moved to Michigan last week and can not believe how cold it has been. I love the fall, though!

i know what you mean about needing your outfits to "feel" right for the moment. i have a few pieces i really love that only get worn every now and then because i have to be in the right mood or in the right setting to wear them. maybe i'm crazy, but i feel like clothes should be an expression of yourself, so if the outfit doesn't feel right, pick one that does.

SO jealous that the seasons are changing for you! Here in Florida it's still hot and humid as ever, and all I want to do is slip on some tights and boots and finally get layered up!!

Hopefully soon :) Looking forward to your future autumn posts.

I know! It is definitely fall in the Miswest, huh? I love this look. I'm so pumped for everyone's fall posts too!

I'm definitely looking forward to all your Fall posts! The fall colors photograph beautifully and look lovely on you! And all the themed ones are so cute!! I'm with you, summer just makes my style so lazy, half the times I don't even want to wear a belt because it just makes for a sweaty waist, eeew!

I agree about summer posts. It's too hot for layering, but just a dress doesn't really add anything to blog posts. :)

Love this outfit on you. I can't wait for fall styling either!
