Frocktober!

Happy Frocktober! I'm so excited to be posting about this wonderful collaboration today and to be one of the bloggers taking part! ModCloth has joined up with Frocktober to raise money for the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation of Australia! What is Frocktober? It's all about wearing dresses in the month of October to raise funds and awareness for ovarian cancer research. ModCloth is helping out by donating 20% of each Frocktober dress they sell. So, go now, pick yourself up one! Not only is this dress super cute, but it helps a wonderful cause.

If you're looking for ways to raise money, there are several options! It's up to you on how you want to contribute to Frocktober! Here are some helpful ways to get started:

  • Don a frock all month, half of it, or even a week and get sponsored for it! This is the original Frocktober challenge. So original that it's almost retro.
  • Blog about it! Blog about your frockscapades to the WWW. Photograph your frockin’ efforts, show them off to the world and get sponsored for it!
  • Morning/afternoon teas; nothing’s better than a decadent cup of tea in your favourite frock. Call your frockish friends; turn the kettle on, put out some dollar-dazzling slice and your event is complete!
  • Challenge your mates. How about your school buddy who has worn only pants since 1997, or your male friend who can't say no to a dare? Put your money on the table until they get a frock on.

Be sure to head over to ModCloth to check out the Frocktober dress and help out in any way you can. Currently, there is no appropriate early detection test for ovarian cancer. Frocktober supports the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation in Australia in the search for an appropriate screening test, with the ultimate aim to improve outcomes for patients and their families.

Outfit details:
Frocktober dress c/o ModCloth
Tights via Lucky FABB gift bag
Garren heels c/o Blowfish Shoes

That Frocktober dress is frocking adorable!! It looks beyond perfect with your pumpkin patch back drop.

I'm happy to see bloggers/Modcloth getting the word out about Ovarian cancer. Like you said, there isn't an early detection method, so there really is a need for research to make good medicines!

I had Ovarian cancer when I was four, so as a survivor it's wonderful to see bloggers/Modcloth supporting the cause. This is great! <3

I actually really really love this dress! If it wasn't so expensive (for a student) I would really consider buying it.

What a darling dress for such an amazing cost. Many women don't know the dangers of ovarian and cervical cancers, and ovarian cancer is often detected in later stages, which reduces the chances of successful treatment (okay, I obviously write for health care publications). Thanks for getting the word out, Tieka!!

Aaah, that dress is a dream! I wish I wasn't in a negative budget at this point. If there is any way I could save any money before this runs out of stock, or if I find a $100 bill on the street, this dress is happening to my closet.

That is a great dress. I love how you styles it. I love seeing how people put their own spin on a dress, your choice of tights and shoes are not a combo I would ever think of myself, yet looks so fantastic!

I love this initiative and dress from Modcloth! A highschool friend of me died of ovarian cancer when she was only 16 years old. If only they could've detected it earlier, perhaps she would still be alive... Research is so important!
