Snowy fields

We finally received some real snow! It's not our first snowfall, but nothing has stuck this winter! Not that I'm complaining because I adored our extended autumn. But it is nice to see a bit of winter now that it's January. I made a huge winter inspiration Pinterest board and then it never snowed. I wonder if that's why... I jinxed myself this year by planning ahead!

I wore this outfit when Brett and I were out on Monday running a few errands. It's been so nice having long, extended weekends the past two weeks. Next week is going to seem so long with five work days! I've finally been trying to get into a routine since the new year. It's my goal to work out four times a week, stay on top of a schedule and plan ahead more. It really helps me to have a plan and to stay organized.

I'm trying to think of other new and exciting things to tell you guys about, but I just don't have much! I'm itching to take a trip soon. We always plan these amazing weekend trips in summer, but never think about it much in winter! Michigan is beautiful all year round, but I just think the winter mentality is "stay home". I really need to plan somewhere pretty to explore this time of year.

I'll have some other news about changes on the blog soon. I'm trying to streamline as much as I can in my life currently. I know it's probably the "new years resolutions" mentality, but I want more time for fun in my life. I also want more time to spend with Brett. I know we're married and we live together, but sometimes I really miss him! I want to be able to spend more time with him. So planning things out, getting rid of things that aren't benefiting my life and making decisions are all part of my plan this winter. I'm excited for the future!

Outfit details:
Toasty warm cardigan c/o ThreadSence
Forever 21 body suit
Gap jeggings
Forever 21 scarf
Target boots

This outfit is so cute! I'm not a huge fan of winter but all these snowy pictures made me feel ok w it. Although we haven't had snow for a month and it doesn't look like its coming any time soon.
I think that is a wonderful goal!

I started weight watchers again and am trying to plan my workout schedule as well. It's too bad we can't bottle the New Year mentality for those uninspired days.

Awww, you look so gorgeous, esp. in the 3rd to last photo. So pretty!

I love your polka dot top and that bag is AMAZING!

I totally know what you mean about missing your hubs. We have been together a total of almost 8 years and married almost 5, and I still miss him when I am at work or not with him after a few hours haha. :)

What a perfect snowy day outfit. :) It still hasn't snowed, or even come close to freezing temps here in Texas, so enjoy it while you have it! Yeah, the warmer weather is nice, but so are seasons! And your resolutions sound eerily similar to mine. Happy New Year! haha.

Sounds a lot like my resolutions! Please share your ideas on Michigan winter escapes. I am from Walled Lake, Michigan and am always looking to explore new parts of Michigan, but like you said, more so in the summer months. Winter is so beautiful in Michigan though...if we would only get that snow... You look great by the way!

I'm really jealous of your snow! We have hardly had any in Tahoe and our ground is looking very bare! All of the ski resorts are closing!
I am making the most of it by going on tons of hikes and taking time to appreciate the lake.
I love your bag, it is so pretty and looks perfect for carrying lots of stuff!

It's funny, me and my husband always end up in michigan in the winter! ann arbor, grand rapids, detroit, east lansing... seriously, we take more trips to michigan than anywhere else! and the weather is always AWFUL! As long as you're bundled and can find frequent refuge in coffee shops or wine bars, it's wonderful - oh, and love the bag ;)

here it's the same: no real winter for so far, a bit of snow today, but it's a bit to warm...
well, as you, I wasn't unhappy for the "loooong" autumn, but I really don't want to end with snow piles in march or april!
we'll see!
good luck with your resolutions, and p.s. I also started to work out last year, I didn't do any "hard things", but I started with yoga and pilates each once per week, and by the end of the year, I went in total 4 times per week to the gym, even my fear of the "cardio" things had vanished! And believe me, I feel really better, my back doesn't hurt any more and I'm more active!

You look cosy and wrapped up in these photos, glad you finally got your snow! The red scarf is so cute and I love it against the polka dots. I get the same way in winter, with less exploring, but there's still so many places I want to see.

"Simplify" seems to be a very common theme for 2012! I think it's great and we could all use more time to focus on the things we truly love and enjoy!

What a wonderful post! I hope you achieve 2012 goals! And I haven't ever really considered traveling somewhere (within my state) in the winter before, so maybe that will be something I try, too!

I checked the forecast and it's supposed to stay mild through the next week. So crazy for January in Michigan, but I'm not complaining - I don't mind at all the extra days when I don't have to get up early to scrape off my car :)

I'm with you on not being ready for a 5-day work week again. This week has dragged and it's only 4 days! Ah well. Can't wait to hear your blog news!

Oooh yay, love this snowy post, there is something so charming & magical about these photos. And the one where you are covering your face, could not be cuter!! I'm also loving that modcloth coat - I believe you had it in your wishlist and it's absolutely perfect... as are the polka dots & those lovely fur lined boots, adorable outfit!

As for streamlining? Oh my goodness, it seriously must be something in the air because I have SO been thinking along the same lines. Lately, I've been missing Martin & want more fun in my life. Can't wait to hear more about it Tieka and the blog changes too. It's all about moving forward & being happy!! Happy weekend. xo V

Yay! I love when snow makes an appearance in your outfit posts! You make winter look so cozy and stylish - I love the polka dots and that awesome bag.

I'm excited to hear what changes are coming up! I've been thinking a lot lately about blogging, the bloggers I follow and the amount of time I spend on the internet... mostly the last one! It's funny how much of a part of your life it becomes and you don't really question wether that's a good thing or not! But I'll always adore you and this blog :)
