The red walk

One of my favorite trends lately has been wearing sheer items where you can see a bandeau or bra underneath. I was able to get away with this trend here and here. This time around? Well... let's just say you don't get a full front shot today. This top was a little too sheer. Whoopsie doodles! Good thing I wore this outfit on a weekend, in a ghost beach town. Next time I'll be sure to pair a camisole under this polka-dot beauty. ;)

I'm loving how it's still light out when I get home from work. It only lasts an hour or so, but I mean... compared to driving home in the dark, this is amazing! I'm really looking forward to only having a 5 minute commute when we move. I'll have SO much daylight! Weeee! Now the temperatures just need to kick it up a notch. I'm thinking 50s and I'll be happy. I remember last St. Patrick's Day, spring finally hit. I'm hoping it happens the same way this year.

Nothing else is new, really! I have my outfits mostly planned for the Texas Style Council Conference (can't wait!). I just need to pick out my two items to swap for the Swap event and get details ready. I'm going to try and just do a carry-on this time. With warm weather, hopefully that's doable. Also - if you're attending, Elizabeth of Delightfully Tacky and I will be the speakers at the "Blogging 101" table on Saturday, so be sure to sign up! It'll be lots of fun! I cannot wait to meet everyone.

Yes, I have a similar shirt, which I have soon discovered needs a cami underneath.
Have fun at the conference. Wish we had blogging conferences here in Australia!

Loving the top! But not so sure about a bra showing through... a bandeau maybe, but a bra? A little to provocative for me!
As a high school girl, I see plenty of girls attempt the style, and while I don't mind it on you, I'm sorry to say we call "those" girls at school sluts.

I am a very similar top from H&M. It's one of my favorites, but definitely not something I'd have the courage wear it without a cami underneath. But I love how you pulled it off here! And I love the moccasins with the tailored pants - very fun mix of business and casual. Lovely, as always!

Too-sheer or not, that blouse is darling :)

I am LOVING all the daylight as well! This winter has gone by so much faster than I thought it would (the lack of snow probably has something to do with that, haha)...and spring really will be here before we know it! I hope everything goes smoothly with the move :)

oh well, can't wait to see you hun! and i think this outfit looks really cute, even if the top/bra situation didn't quite turn out how you wanted :)

I love those pants! You are much braver than I am...I can't bring myself to wear sheer shirts without at least a cami underneath, but I love the way they look!

I stumbled upon your blog through a link that Rachel at "Smile and Wave" posted, and immensely enjoyed reading your posts. I was delighted to realize that, like myself, you're from GR then moved to GH! Well, actually I'm a couple minutes north of GH, but I spend plenty of time there. Feeling a connection to the scenes in some of your photos makes reading your blog even more enjoyable! Keep it up!

I can't really express how frustrated I am that I can't be there for the style council! Granted, I'm in Boston, nowhere close to Texas, but still! I'm sure you guys will have a great time though - can't wait to hear about it! :]]]

Oh, I had a sheer blouse faux pas, once. I cannot believe I didn't think about it... When I saw the photos from the night, sheer bra, plus sheer blouse... still equals sheer. I asked a girlfriend that was there why she didn't tell me and she replied that she thought it was a deliberate choice. WHAT, ARE YOU NUTS? :/

Chelle Lynn said...

I guess the appropriate level of sheerness all has to do with one's individual comfort level. I love a hint of bra, but am usually a little too reserved to give it a full go. You look amazing, I'm sure no one was worried that you didn't have a cami! :)

RuBee said...

I love that blouse, but I'm never brave enough to wear something so sheer without a little top underneath. If I was a little more flat chested I think I'd be braver! x

Hannah said...

Funny how something can look totally fine at home, but then you look at the pictures and you're like...umm, I'm naked!! Honestly this doesn't seem that bad though, and I'm sure the late-day light didn't help. Either way you look totally gorgeous! I love that you paired the sexy, sheer top with casual pants + mocs to keep it realistic. Perfection!!

I wish I could go to Texas Style Council! So many of my fav bloggers are speaking. Maybe next year...

Uh oh! Don't you hate it when you totally adore an outfit and then realize something like that about it? I wore a dress one time that bunched up on my tights and I mooned people all day long! (Hey, it happens!) Haha!
It has been mid 60s- low 70s here in Georgia! It is going to be one heck of a sweltering summer. All of us southern folks just know it!

You are so cute! :)
Lovely outfit on you as usual! Okay I know how it feels when you're wearing a shirt and didn't expect it to be so sheer. I had this situation some time ago when I was pegging out washing on the balcony and realized that some neighbours from an other house were staring and whispering...
So I think you still handled the situation elegantly by turning your back against the sun in the pics and using the shadows for your advantage ;)
