So, as many of you know... we will be moving in two weeks and I'm a little emotional about it. Living here has really defined us. We've had our happiest memories in this little beach town and I'm going to miss it terribly. This apartment has been my favorite place I've ever lived in my entire life (I've lived in over 10 places) and I'm super sad about saying goodbye. For Valentine's Day, I came home to a stack of photos from Brett. First I was cracking up at the silly things we've experienced while living here, but then the big things just hit me hard and I totally started bawling! I love these memories so much; they make up who I am. And Brett has experienced all of them with me. I think that's the most amazing thing about a marriage is that you both live this life together and it means so much to both of you. Anyway, enjoy... and Happy Valentine's Day! (A lot of these are inside jokes, so I'll caption them for you.)
*Our home!
*We've had the worst experiences trying to get our scooters in and out of this little garage stall. Kind of funny now though...
*Bahaha! Every time Brett and I ride doubles on the scooter, I give him titty twisters! I can't help myself!
*It's true. We've sat here almost every summer for 4th of July and Coast Guard fireworks.
*I was 17 when I fell head over heels for Brett. I used the excuse one night after a show that I couldn't remember where I parked my car (it was literally a block down the street) but Brett gave me a ride anyway ;)
*Brett and I were out scooting one night when we saw this crazy making of a music video and the lyrics to the song were "Michigan Cougar". We were like... hahaha, WHAT?!
*For some crazy reason, we find it hilarious to spin so fast on these cylinders until we feel like barfing. We ALWAYS regret it!
*Brett's mom always used to scold Brett as a kid to not walk on these rocks because they might be slippery. Hahaha, such a mom thing to say. So of course, we always say that to each other now.
*Brett quotes "date" because he refuses to admit it was a date. It was so a date. Obviously, I had him in the bag.
*Where I started bawling... this is where Brett proposed 6 years ago. The exact day the ring shipped to the store (meaning he couldn't wait another second.) We had only been together 6 months. :)
*Tiekaisms, he calls them. Lawl. Totes. B ♥ T... our sign off signature. Love him more than words can even say. Thank you, Brett for the perfect Valentine's Day gift!

I can't believe that one house is vacant. I want to live there!
I wish there was something I could say to make you feel butter, but moving from such a place would be too hard.

This is quite honestly the most romantic thing i have ever seen, everyone should have their own Brett :) xx
Hi! I'm the fellow grandhavenite you ran into at Bottom40 Halloween at Sazarac. Love your pictures. I can't decide if it's because your marriage is so sweet or if it's because I know and love these places too, but I started tearing up as I was going through them. :) As a side note I LOVE that victorian house on washington too! I can't believe no one lives there! Is it for sale or rent? Hope you two have a great move wherever you're going!
Oh my goodness that is beyond adorable. How thoughtful. I even felt teary!
awww.. now I wanna cry with you, and I'm not the one moving. First off, do you live in amazing-ville or what?! that apartment is to die for!! I have never seen anything like that... except in movies! Love the train tracks.. the light house... the pier... EVERYTHING!! But with that said, your new place looks just as gorg and I'm absolutely certain you guys will find pure happiness there too! Good luck with the move!! Xoxo
Such a sweet post, you've had so many special moments together in that adorable little town! You & Brett's romance seems right out of a sweet romantic movie. Oh, and your garage seems totally organized to me : )

You two are the embodiment of true love :) And it's always such an inspiration for me! Actually when I was feeling a bit disappointed about my relationship some years ago, I read the stories about you and Brett here and I wanted to have this perfect relationship full of love too. And then I looked at the relationship me and my boyfriend had and realized that I had nothing to complain about because we had (and still have) it as well! Okay of course not exactly the same, but similar ;)
So you guys are pretty amazing together and I bet I'm not the only one who feels inspired by it everytime you post such sweet things.
Thanks for sharing such a personal Valentine's gift :)
This was SO cute and lovely to read!
I'm excited for you; even if you're leaving a little bit of yourselves behind!
Soooo cute <3

This is such a cute idea for a Valentine's Day gift.
I hope you guys have great new adventures in your new house!
(p.s: When I visited Michigan with my mom this past summer, I fell in love with where you guys live. It's such a cute area and I was so excited to actually go and see the things that I've seen you take pictures of. I'm hoping to go back soon!)
This post was even emotional for me to read, Good luck with your move and enjoy.
Oh mu gosh Tieka this was so sweet to read! I felt the same way moving out of our old apartment (of 6 years!). I love all of the pics, especially the "where we go to become fatties" lol, Kyle and I have one of those places too :)
Wait a minute... all those places are... G.H., Michigan?! I WENT TO FRUITPORT HIGH SCHOOL! And I've totally been to Porto Bello.
Good luck on your new adventures, you two! <3
BAHAHHAHAHHAA I'm crying so hard I'm laughing at the titty twisters graphic "this lady doesn't give her husband titty twisters when scooting" hahahahahha god you guys crack me up. And you'll make so many new memories in your next place :)

Thank you for highlighting pictures of my hometown! I miss GH so much (got married to a non-native and have moved several times.) I was thrilled to see one of your pics pop up on pinterest and knew immediately it was a picture of home. I hope you don't have to move too far away from GH.
So sweet! And I totally know why you love GH so much - it was so fabulous to live there...one of my favorite locations (we moved quite a few times when I was a kid).
This is such a sweet post.
