Apple blossoms

When Brett and I saw the apple orchards were blooming, it was almost too good to be true. Like... a Selective Potential heaven. On the south side of the road, the pink trees were blooming. On the north side, the white trees were blooming. So naturally, I planned outfits for both! I've been here before actually, in this very same field picking apples a couple of autumns ago. It's so amazing how different a place can look in each season. So pretty.

I got this dress last autumn in hopes to wear it to the apple orchard. But with it being a peach color, I just could never get myself to wear it when the trees were all orange and red! So with spring apple blossoms, this dress couldn't be more perfect. It's so romantic! Plus, I love the apple print. Of course, I also wore an apple print skirt in this very same field. Am I too predictable or what? At least I'm consistent...?

It was pretty crazy looking at these photos and realizing I'm not a blonde anymore! I know I haven't been for a while, but this is crazy. My stylist cut out the last few blonde pieces a couple of months ago, but my hair looks so dark in these photos. I love having my complete natural color because it's so much more healthy and maintenance-free, but I'm definitely itching to lighten it up for spring. I'm such a chicken though when it comes to hair, so I probably won't do a thing. Haha!

Any plans for the upcoming weekend? We have band practice tomorrow night. We're done writing three new songs... and working on a fourth! I'm super excited and loving the new stuff. Saturday, I'm hoping to head out to Kalamazoo for the day. There's something I've wanted to do there for a long time... and then there's a band playing that night so it kind of works out perfect. I'll share next week, of course!

Very cute! Aren't you loving spring so far! It is weird to see you not blonde! When I met you in math class, oh so long ago, you were very blonde and curly! Loving the natural! Wish I had such a beautiful natural color!

That place doesn't even look real, and oh my goodness, that is such a lovely outfit. It's funny that you mentioned your hair color - I was going to say something about that even before I saw that you had talked about it! I think the dark hair is really striking on you. You look wonderful. :)

Lovely photos again, Tieka! I wish I lived near some blossoms *sigh*. I hadn't coloured my hair in about 6 years until 6 months ago & was very scared when I got it done. Now I love it, although the maintenance is a pain. But freshly coloured hair still feel so good ...

We have these same trees in my town. They're oh-so lovely, but at the beginning of their bloom they have this horrific stench.

Another gorgeous outfit paired perfectly with the scenery!

Such a gorgeous post! The detailing on your dress is amazing and the backdrop, :sigh: amazing. It sounds like you have a great weekend planned! I myself am supposed to learn to sew on my new machine, a task which I have left undone for months because it is daunting! I decided today I am going to try to add a pocket to an old t shirt as a start, and then my boyfriends mom is going to give me a hemming lesson tomorrow. So it will be a productive weekend with lots of coffee and bike riding too! Have fun in Kalamazoo & Happy Friday

I love this dress and I think it's my favorite "look it's spring" look I've seen all month!

And although I'm a random lurking reader this is an exciting weekend for me. I'm going thrifting early in the morning Saturday, then I'm seeing Joyce Manor Saturday evening at a local venue. I have craft plans and coffee on Sunday with a side of biscuits n' gravy before wandering the craft store aisles in the afternoon followed by Hot Snakes playing on Sunday evening. It'll be a great way to usher in April. Now if only the Portland rain would stop starting at 5pm.

That dress is oh so pretty! And your natural hair-color is beautiful; it's funny, I feel like I haven't been reading super long (maybe your posts are always fresh and new or... I don't know), but when I started reading you were pretty much completely blonde. Weird! You look lovely with either hair color!
