An outdoor concert

Last Thursday, I headed to Frederick Meijer Gardens with some friends to see one of my favorite bands, The Head and the Heart. It was the perfect night and temperature for an outdoor concert. We found a spot on the grass, munched on snacks and enjoyed a great show. Frederick Meijer Gardens has an entire summer concert series, and it's such a beautiful setting for a show.

Since I knew we'd be sitting down on the grass, I went for a long, comfortable maxi dress. Plus, I thought if we're headed to the gardens for the concert, I'd wear florals! I feel like maxi dresses are just a staple for outdoor concerts and music festivals. I also saw another girl wearing black jeans, brown flats and a peach top with a top knot and I loved her outfit and hope to replicate it soon. It sounds so simple, but she looked amazing!

If you haven't checked out The Head and the Heart, I'd totally recommend their music. They are an indie folk-pop band from Seattle. I started listening to them last winter and fell in love. As soon as I saw they were coming to Grand Rapids, I bought tickets immediately. Not only is their music great, they put on an amazing live show. Plus, the new songs I heard were so good. I can't wait to hear their new album.

{I loved her outfit.}

My goodness, the concert looks like fun! I've heard some stuff by The Head and the Heart that I really like.

Loving your simple outfit! You look so cute and comfey. I have to get a maxi dress now! I really regret cutting the only one I've ever owned to make it knee length.

I'm really picky about floral patterns on dresses, but I absolutely love this one. It looks great on you. Also, great thinking in using a maxi dress to make sitting in the grass more comfortable!

I ADORE that dress! It is the perfect maxi. Pulling style inspiration from others, but giving it a personal edge is really what makes the fashion world go 'round.

Great photos & outfit! I love that you did a long, floral patterned dress because while I have a few to choose from, I haven't been wearing them due to the fact that I always end up making them look frumpy. But your dress, paired with the hat and shoes, looks adorable!

Random- but what is that creepy figure in the 5th photo on the right? It's in the background and it looks like you are turned backwards toward it. Haha! Love your dress by the way.
