Changing of the leaves

Autumn is in full swing here in Michigan! I cannot believe my eyes when driving down the highway - all of the leaves are crazy colorful. It's so beautiful. I honestly don't take a second of it for granted. I just love the colors, the scent, the chillness in the air. It's just wonderful. Seeing pumpkins at the market, apple-everything and being able to wear all of my favorite pieces of clothing. Ah, so lovely! I'm still checking things off my bucket list. So far I've drank hot cider, ate an apple harvest donut, drank a pumpkin spice latte (man, I love food!) and watched a scary movie. So much more to accomplish! But thank goodness it's only the second day of October. It's the best month of the year and I plan to live everyday to the fullest.

On this particular night, last Friday, Eric and I had a great night in downtown Grand Rapids. We grabbed dinner at The Winchester, saw an amazing glimpse of the floating lanterns, saw a fashion show on the blue pedestrian bridge, drank pumpkin spice lattes, walked around ArtPrize and caught a country show at Back Forty Saloon. I even had a reader say hi! I love meeting girls in Grand Rapids. Hi, Chelsea!

Can I just say how easy it has been to dress this autumn? I swear I live in the seasons. That's why I have such a hard time dressing for summer and winter sometimes. When I was planning some autumn outfits, I just wanted to be able to see all of them together so I could grab colors and patterns and mix and match. So I grabbed my portable clothing rack and put everything autumn on it from dresses to tops, skirts, scarves, hats, shoes, you name it. And I love it. I was so easily able to plan seven outfits today. Being organized seriously helps me so much and I'm really excited for the outfits I have planned!

I hope you're all enjoying your start to the new season, wherever you are! (Can't wait to see Eleanor rock my spring items I just sent her!) I'll be back again tomorrow with another fall-filled post. Trust me, there are tons more coming this month. I'm so excited and am trying to get myself to take pictures almost every single day. Eeee! This is my favorite time of year to blog, so I absolutely need to take advantage of it! xo

It's been monsoon-ing for the past three days so I hope they haven't fallen off of the trees yet :(! I think that planning outfits ahead like that is such a great idea! I must do this right away!

I love the detail on this dress, it's absolutely beautiful. I love dressing for Autumn too, I love pulling out all my warm yellow and orangey coloured stuff, it's almost like my clothes are making up for the coldness of the season by being as bright and fun as possible, haha xo

Your have the most awesome foliage colors there!

Also all the details of this outfit just come together so well- the rings, the neckline! But my favorite part is the embroidered shawl. Breathtaking.

These colors are so gorgeous! I'm so excited for fall, too, but I have so few fall items! This is the first year that I'm actually organizing my closet into a seasonal wardrobe-- before this, I didn't have enough clothes to put some away for different seasons! But I definitely want to buy fall pieces to add in now!

You seasons are so much more extreme in the states! Obviously our weather changes too (but no snow where I live) but we don't do the whole pumpkin craze/ apple picking etc etc in New Zealand. Autumn is more about soups and crunchy leaves but that's about it. It's Spring here now though and I'm LOVING all the pretty pink blossoms all around.

The autumnal color palette you have going here is wonderful. It is what I always build up fall to be in my mind, but never experience. Enjoy!
