Invite // 1001 Sheets: A KCAD Fashion Show

Hey Michigan gals/guys/bloggers! I just wanted to give you all a heads up about a local fashion show coming up in two weeks. Kendall College of Art & Design (I'm a proud alumni!), the Bodies of Art Fashion Alliance and The Aveda Institute present their 2013 spring fashion show, 1001 Sheets: A Contemporary PaperCraft show. It's on Friday, March 1st at The Goei Center, 818 Butterworth St. SW, Grand Rapids, MI. Entry is at 7pm and the show is at 8pm.

Eric and I will be there checking out the show! Kendall designers always put a really interesting perspective on fashion. Even though it's not wearable, I love seeing how they play with texture, color and shapes. This year's theme is around the construction of paper. It's a complete paper-show, meaning all garments are constructed using different types of paper. Designers have been inspired by abstract geometric shapes (my favorite trend!), folds and cuts, and trending fashion on the runway for the spring '13 collections.

If you can make it, it should be a great time! You can buy tickets at the door for $15 non-students and $10 for students.

**A portion of the profits will be donated to the Grand Rapids Division of The YWCA.

RSVP HERE at the Facebook event page.

Hope to see you there! xo

I live three hours away, but this seems like it would be really cool to go to! I love the idea of a paper theme!

I would adore to be there and at so many more amazing fashion shows (especially from colleges), but it's never one in my country! =(
