Past spring favorites

Since today is FINALLY the first day above freezing here in Michigan, I thought I'd show some of my past favorite spring outfits. I had four springs to pull from this time - crazy! This little blog is getting old! Spring is one of my favorite times to blog. Winter (of course) is by far the worst… especially THIS winter. Ugh. I'm definitely ready to start posting more and start traveling and taking the usual adventures again. Spring couldn't be more welcome this year! I have so many fun things already in the works for this season. An amazing collaboration with one of my favorite companies ever, a long weekend planned in Nashville, TN (send over recommendations!), plus the usual tulip festival, blossoms at Robinette's and… lighthouses! Of course. This is going to be my year too since nautical is so on trend right now. ;)

If you would like to check out some 'Southern' home style cooking while in Nashville, check out Monell's Restaurant: http://monellstn.com/?page_id=4
My husband and I ate there in November, and it was amazing. Enjoy!

  14. I am going to Nashville for a girls weekend soon. Cannot wait to hear about your experiences :) I've never been!

It got warmer yesterday in Indiana and my mood suddenly lifted! Cannot wait for spring. Your outfits have made me excited from dresses and heels! I'm so sick of socks and boots right now (even though I love socks and boots).

  15. So great to see spring outfits again! I am dying for some sunshine! If you're going to Nashville, check out the Opryland hotel. It may sound a little weird, but it's absolutely gorgeous! We spent an entire day inside hanging out in their indoor gardens. It was magical!

  19. These photos are awesome, Field of Tulips and Pink Trees are particularly nice =) As for Nashville recommendations, I have lived here the past 2 years and can tell you some good off the beaten path sorts of stuff. Here are my personal favorites...
Visit Sky Blue Cafe in East Nashville for an awesome breakfast (Eggs Benedict!)
Grimey's (Berry Hill) and The Groove (East Nashville) are great record stores.
McKays (West Nashville) is a humongous used bookstore/record store/video game store.
Crema Coffee (2nd Avenue) is one of the best coffee shops in the area and has spectacular views. They do close early but that's ok because the area can be sketchy at night. Fido Coffee (Hillsboro Village) is good too for when you want to spot local celebrities.
The Stone Fox (West Nashville) is a really cool music venue, bar, and restaurant. It's very Nashville-ey.
Take a walk around 5 points in East Nashville during the day (it can be sketchy at night) to browse local bars, boutiques, and 'random' shops.
One of the coolest bars I've ever been to is The Green House in Green Hills. Literally a green house (yes, with plants still in it) that has been converted into a bar.
Let me know if you need any more recommendations =)

  21. Nashville can be a great city. My reccomendatins would be to stay away from Downtown or set your expectations accordingly as there are many franchises there. The 5 Points neighborhood is great and I Dream of Weenie - Full Service Weeniery (a gourmet hot dog stand made out of a Volkswagon Bus) is a must. I also recommend a drive in the country and Dotson's restaurant in Franklin TN (a quaint town just outside of Nashville). You can read more about these places in my post Tennessee Tennessee, Ain't no place I'd rather be. (http://lillibean23.com/2013/08/14/tennessee-tennessee-there-aint-no-place-id-rather-be/)
