We are in a winter wonderland here in Michigan! It just keeps on coming down! We took these photos before the new year, but we've gotten even more snow since then. To be honest, I'm loving the snow, I'm just really hating these freezing cold temperatures! Single digits? No, thanks. I've been trying to make the most of it though and using this time to hibernate a little bit, and get to work on other things, like organizing, cleaning, working out, and cooking meals. Winter can definitely stick around for a while! I have goals to reach!
Happy new year! Before we move onto 2018, I thought it'd be fun to put together a year in review of 2017. This was a really big year for me in terms of personal growth. I went into 2017 with anxiety, terrible headaches, vertigo, and was 10 pounds away from obesity. I really feel like I changed my entire life around this year. I let go of some pain and guilt from the past through therapy, I learned so much about myself, changed my relationship with food and exercise, and after a terrible existential crisis in July (felt like I basically hit rock bottom), I somehow just changed everything around in the last six months. I'm still not quite sure how I did it, but I'm so grateful. This year really really changed me. Let's look back, shall we?Read More
A couple of weekends ago, Eric and I headed off to Frankenmuth, Michigan. It is seriously in the top three of my favorite days of the entire year. We literally do the same exact thing every year, so maybe it's the routine and tradition I love? Maybe it's just how festive the town is? Maybe it's because of the delicious food and drinks we stuff ourselves with? I'm not totally sure, I just love every second of this entire day. It's always so much fun! If you've never gotten the chance to visit Frankenmuth (especially you Michiganders), you really need to plan a visit... and soon!

A few weeks ago, we headed up to Rockford for a delicious lunch at Ramona's Table! I feel like we've walked past this place a million times, but have never stopped before. I'm so glad we got a chance to check it out finally! It was delicious, the service was wonderful, and I'm still dreaming of their seasonal sangria. Yum! If you're ever in Rockford, I'd definitely recommend paying them a visit. They're located right downtown Rockford (near the dam and all sorts of shopping!) and have a great outdoor patio in the summer. I can't wait to go back when it's warmer outside!

So if you don’t know, I work full-time as a graphic designer at a communications agency in downtown Grand Rapids. I spend my 8-5 behind my desk at the office, but sometimes I love to get out and work from a local coffee shop to mix it up a little bit. Usually I’m working over my lunch hour on the blog, so hitting up a local coffee shop is a great way to get out of the office and still be in a community of people. Working from home is always great too, but I definitely get distracted with chores and television, so heading somewhere to focus is always a good idea.Read More
A couple weekends ago, I got the amazing opportunity to walk in my first fashion show for Anthropologie! Every year, they host an annual Holiday Fashion Show with sips and sweets. It's such a fun evening to chat and mingle with local friends, do a little shopping, and enjoy a night out with some amazing fashion. I had a lot of fun trying out some totally unique looks that I might not have normally tried! I was surprised by two of my closest friends sitting in the front row, and I was totally an unprofessional dork just beaming down the runway. It was such a fun evening! One I was a little nervous for, but so glad I participated in, because it ended up being SO much fun. Thanks to Anthropologie for having me, and thanks to Jackie D Palmer Films for the amazing photos!
