Lucky FABB Conference

I was so incredibly thrilled to have been part of Lucky Magazine's FABB conference this year. It over-exceeded my expectations of what a conference could be! This is my third fashion week and I've attended several conferences before and this had to of been my favorite. I attended with my darling friend, Andrea of Blonde Bedhead! We arrived just as the rain started coming down (as you can tell with my crazy frizz hair!)

I learned so much from the panelists. It was amazing to see how real and down to earth Diane Von Furstenberg was and to be able to relate to her in little ways - like growing up with not much money. I am so inspired by women who are independent and their biggest goal in life is to "pay their own bills". If that's all you're doing as a woman, I seriously admire you! I also adored Rachel Roy. She was so kind-hearted and seemed like someone you could sit down with and talk to so easily. They were definitely two of my favorite speakers of the day.

In the whole time I was planning for fashion week, there was so much hype about what to wear! I quickly just told myself to plan outfits as if Brett and I were shooting on the railroad tracks. It's important to be yourself - especially style wise at these big events! The reason you are attending in the first place is because people like your style, right? So I wore my favorite heart patterned top and a new pleated mustard skirt.

It was so amazing to see so many of my good friends at the conference and to make so many new friends. I loved seeing my old friends like Julie of Orchid Grey, Jen of Jen Loves Kev and Kim of Eat Sleep Wear. Even after two years of blogging, I still find it crazy that when you see these girls in real life... it's like no time has passed since you last saw each other!

I also loved meeting new people and such amazing bloggers. Two of my favorites were definitely Amy of Stylish Year and Jen of House of Jeffers. We sat together through the whole conference and they were both such a delight to be around all day. That's the best part of fashion week, in my opinion, is to meet and connect with so many wonderful ladies!
