Flower shopping

March 30, 2016 Tieka Ellis

Spring showers are officially here! Of course, on the day you steam your skirt and curl your hair, but hey, that's life. I was thankful for warmth today though and the option to wear bare legs, especially after receiving this cute striped skirt from Banana Republic! I'm excited to be teaming up with them to style this outfit. I'm loving the scallop trend right now, and this white scalloped sweater will be a great transition piece this spring. It could easily be paired with a pair of jeans, a lightweight scarf and sandals for a casual weekend outfit. I also love stripes (who doesn't?) and this shirred mini skirt will be perfect for the upcoming seasons. I'm looking forward to wearing this with a denim jacket to explore a lighthouse this summer!

I added a pop of pink lipstick to help add a touch of 'girly' to this outfit. (It's called pink sugar by Maybelline.) As for shoes, I always wear flats for running errands, like grocery shopping or a trip to the market. Any color shoes could have went with this outfit really. This skirt is so versatile in colors with the mix of green, blue and black. I always love when multi-colors make styling easy! Be sure to check out Banana Republic's big spring sale right now with 40% off your purchase. Just use code "BRSPRING" at checkout!

After a bit of flower hunting and escaping the downpour, I had to pick up wine for Wine Club tomorrow and a snack to bring along. I always look forward to those nights with the girls! This month's theme is floral wines, which can include any wine with 'a hint of floral'. Perfect for spring, right? Have a great rest of your week and a great weekend! We'll be off on another small weekend adventure, and I can't wait! We'll be exploring Michigan's unofficial wine capital. Any ideas? xo

#ad Happy Tuesday! We’ve been beating the winter blues by heading out for walks with Winny and spoiling her with the new @milkbone GnawBones and Wonder Bones I picked up at @meijerstores! Sharing more details and an mPerks deal on the blog! Link in profile. #DogsAreMore
I've decided to give myself a little more love in the morning before I start my day, so I’ve been treating myself with these @aveenous products that I picked up from @meijerstores! #aveenopartner I start my routine with their Skin Relief body wash in the shower, and follow up with their Daily Moisturizing lotion. I’m loving how soft my skin feels after using these (vs. dry how it normally feels this time of year)! Meijer is having a self love sale on Aveeno products this week, so if you’re looking to give yourself a little self love too, go check it out! You can save up to $15 using the link in my bio! #aveeno #aveenobody #aveenoskincare #meijer
Happy Valentine’s Day to this guy... who I lovingly dragged to his first @flexcityfitness class and who said my cauliflower crust pizza was really good. 🤣 I’m the type 3 achiever who wants to crush ALL THE GOALS and he’s the type 9 peacemaker who happily goes along with all my crazy endeavors. And our shared love language is quality time so tonight was perfect. ❤️
This outfit from our trip to the gardens is up on the blog! 🌵Trying to scrape by with what I have for the next few months while we stay focused on our financial goals so this thrifted sweater and my old favorite jeans are what ya get. 😆
