Happy Monday! Onto a new week. I hope you guys had a great weekend! Ours was sort of unexpected. Eric was supposed to play shows all weekend, but there was a scheduling conflict, so I got him home to myself! We tried to do some autumn things, but honestly, it just didn't feel right. It's been SO warm. When we usually head to the apple orchard, we're cozied up in sweaters and sipping hot apple cider. Hot apple cider when it's 80 degrees just... no. I did end up getting my first pumpkin spice latte of the year (iced, of course), we did a little shopping (got a couple of new fall jackets for our trip to Tahquamenon Falls!) and accomplished a few things around the apartment. All in all, good weekend, I'm just ready for those fall temperatures! Give me sixties!
Last week (when it did actually feel like fall), we headed out to my old stomping grounds to grab pumpkins and mums for our front porch. I need to find a new place in Grand Rapids, but I really do love this place back in Grand Haven. They have everything from pumpkins (all kinds!), apple cider, caramel apples, doughnuts, pie, fruits, vegetables. It's super cute. Plus, we stopped to one of our favorite restaurants, Turks Tavern, in the city we got married! It was definitely a good night, and I love that it felt so autumn. I love a good gloomy day!
I probably won't pop in here tomorrow, because Eric and I will be celebrating our 2nd wedding anniversary! On one hand, I can't believe it's already been two years. On the other hand, I feel like we've been married for a long time (which is a good thing!). I love our home, the life we built together, our families, the old friends we've kept and the new friends we've made. I feel like now is better than ever (dating years and all) and I'm excited to see what our third year brings. You can read all about our autumn wedding here! It was such an amazing day, and I'm so thrilled we get to celebrate every year in my favorite season.
