Last Friday night

Happy Monday! Did you all have a good weekend? We really did... but on the other hand, it was just a strange weekend. I mean, we live in Michigan. February should mean blizzards, and below 0º temperatures, and huddling up indoors with Netflix and your coziest blanket. But not this February weekend... we were out and about enjoying the sunshine and 60º temps, grabbing iced coffee, riding with the windows down, heading to the beach to walk the pier with Winny, and only wearing a light jacket instead of our usual fur-hooded parkas! I mean, don't get me wrong, I love this weather, it just feels wrong to love it right now, if that makes any sense at all.

So yeah, on Friday night, when we snapped these photos, we headed downtown to walk around a little bit and grab dinner somewhere. We decided to try Brick and Porter, since we hadn't been there before, and it was pretty good! We both had burgers (they came highly recommended from our server) and yeah, they were good. I'm just a total weirdo who is in love with Bagger Dave's burgers and think they are the best in the city. Haha! So lame, I know, but that's just my honest opinion. And if you're not familiar with Bagger Dave's, it's a chain restaurant. Michigan-based chain, but still. That place can cook a mean burger, and their hand-cut fries with custom dipping sauces... I mean c'mon. Delicious.

So we're onto the last week of February. Woo! We have a busy week ahead too. Tomorrow, Eric is playing at a local brewery, so I'll be there watching him. Wednesday is our monthly girl's Wine Club. Thursday, we're off to another concert to see the Dropkick Murphys. Then this weekend, we're grabbing dinner with my parents in Muskegon and watching the Academy Awards on Sunday night! Does anyone else crazily look forward to just spending a Sunday night on the sofa with snacks watching all of the awards shows? It's one of my favorite things to do! I hope La La Land wins all of the awards. Seriously, that movie is maybe my favorite movie of all time. That and Grumpy Old Men. ;)

For a lil' update on my closet overhaul, you should see our bedroom right now. Ugh, total disaster. I took out everything from storage under our bed... and it's all just sitting on the floor right now. I went through the chapter of The Curated Closet where you make a list of all the things you "like" and I'm going to go through and sort everything. I'm not getting rid of anything yet, but if it's not in my style list I made, I'm going to store it for now. I'm having a lot of fun thinking about my personal style, but it is a lot of work! You make a condensed list of your vibe, individual items you love, colors you gravitate toward, silhouettes, certain materials and how things are styled. And I'm going to try for a while storing everything else... and just live with this condensed, very curated wardrobe, and see how I feel about my style. I already feel like it's improving, but I have a long way to go yet!
