A month ago, Eric and I had the wonderful opportunity to get some photos taken with Annette McMillan! She's an amazing photographer based out of Ann Arbor, and was in town for a few other sessions, so we decided to get together one Saturday morning for a little shoot around our neighborhood! I wanted to capture our "home" life, because this house and this neighborhood mean so much to me! We won't live here forever, so it'll be so special to have these photos to look back on someday.
We snapped a few pictures at home in our living room (Winny, included!) and then took a little stroll down the street to Rowster Coffee to grab lattes. We live in such a fun neighborhood... definitely one of my favorite neighborhoods of Grand Rapids. And it's so up and coming right now! New places are constantly being renovated and built, and we have some of the best food in the city, like Donkey, Winchester, Jonny B'z, and Georgina's, just a block from our front door. If you ever travel to Grand Rapids, I'd definitely recommend paying this area a visit... it's the best! We love living here.
We had such a great time with Annette though. She was so fun and so down-to-earth. I was cracking up the entire time at being silly with Eric. She was trying to tell us things to do from outside the coffee shop and we couldn't hear or understand her at all... and it was so cute how she was trying to motion us into doing different things. We were all cracking up! And I love how the photos turned out. We'll definitely cherish these forever! Be sure to check out her website and follow her on Instagram!
Almost to the long, holiday weekend! I'm so excited. We're headed up to Traverse City, and I'm hoping the cherry blossoms are still in bloom. Eric is playing shows up there all weekend, so I'm just along for the ride! We're staying in a cabin with the band and some friends, so yeah... it's going to be a good one. Traverse City is pretty much our home away from home at this point. I'll be back with lots of posts + content next week from our trip! This summer is going to be a busy one, so be sure to stay connected on Instagram where I'll post as often as I can!
