We survived the polar vortex! Whoa, what a week. I’ve never seen so much snow at our apartment, and our office never closes… and we locked the doors for two days with an option to work from home. I didn’t leave the house Tuesday night to Thursday afternoon. It was nuts! The craziest winter weather I can remember. And now, of course, Michigan… it’s 45º and pretty much all melted at this point. But to say I fell off the bandwagon with everything is an understatement — blogging, Instagram, going to FLEX, eating healthy. I’m so much more accomplished when I’m in a routine, so I’m super glad to be back at it today with some normalcy!
We tried to get out of the house a little bit this weekend… because I’ve just had major cabin fever! I love winter for all the good things — movie nights in, cozy home-cooked meals, catching up on all the TV shows, getting organized, and just straight up hibernating. But it definitely gets old fast, especially when it drags on for so long. But we’re onto February. The groundhog predicts an early spring. We’re currently hustling through some goals. Planning a warm weather vacation at the end of March. All the good things! But yeah, we walked around the mall this weekend, I got an amazing new winter coat on major sale, we ordered pizza in, walked around Frederik Meijer Gardens (post coming soon) and watched the Super Bowl at Eric’s parents. (I show up for snacks. 😉)
Well, it’s my plan to post more often in February! I set a few goals — blog 8 times a month (which really isn’t a lot, but it’s a start for me right now) and to post on Instagram 5 times a week. So that’s the goal! I also want to set an IG story challenge, but maybe that’ll be next month. Baby steps! Spring is always a bit easier with blogging/photography/lighting, so I’m excited for that. In other news — if you’re local and are interested in the baby steps I talk about with how we got out of debt, Dave Ramsey is coming to town in a couple of weeks with a few speakers for the Smart Money event. I’m super excited to go! I’ve never seen him live before, so this will be motivating for us to continue on this journey! If you’re interested, they’re having a Valentine’s Day special for a couple to go for $90! The offer is good until February 15, so sign up here if you’re interested in going. (Single passes go for $49!) I’ll be back later this week… but in the meantime, be sure to follow on Instagram!
