Just outside Nashville

Hi friends! I apologize for the unintentional blog break there. Life has been busy with Halloween plans, work outings, busy schedules, and our recent trip to Nashville. But I'm finally back with a few posts from our trip! We had a great time in Tennessee. This was our fourth year in a row... and we still haven't even scratched the surface of things to do there. But, I was really excited to ditch downtown for a day, and head outside of Nashville to Franklin and Arrington. As much as I love the hustle and bustle of Broadway, I'm much more of a scenic view, small-town girl. It's so much more relaxing. So here's a little recap of our first full day.

Doughnuts at Robinette's

Is there anything better than an apple orchard and warm cider doughnuts in autumn? This is always one of my favorite activities this time of year. We finally got to Robinette's Apple Haus for our annual trip! It's been so busy there, so we decided to go on a Friday night right before they were closing... and we still had to wait in a long line! So nuts! But we got our warm doughnuts, hot cider, and were able to spend time roaming the apple orchards during golden hour. I just love this time of year... it's so special. I can't believe October is already almost over. It all happens too quickly!

Floral kimono jacket

Happy Monday! I'm popping in with an outfit and collab with Target x Who What Wear! They sent over this floral kimono jacket to style up from their new fall collection. They've been releasing smaller capsule collections, and I'm loving their new floral print items. This kimono jacket is such a statement piece, so I kept it simple with a pair of jeans, an ivory top, and a gold necklace to accessorize. This jacket definitely steals the show though! This outfit would be perfect for a casual day at the office, or paired over ripped black denim and heels for an edgier look.

Crisp Point Lighthouse

Our last adventure during our trip to Tahquamenon Falls was to Crisp Point Lighthouse! I remember learning about this lighthouse years ago, and read about how it had been abandoned for years, and they finally opened up a road to see it. Now it's beautifully maintained, with a gift shop, restrooms, and there's a seasonal lighthouse keeper up there to keep it open for you! This is another lighthouse where you can let yourself in, climb up the tower yourself, and you can even open the door to the top of the tower and walk out on the balcony. I just love it. It provides such a beautiful view of Lake Superior, and the fall foliage made it even better!

Whitefish Point

During our trip to Tahquamenon Falls, lighthouses were (of course) on the itinerary! In the morning, after breakfast at our hotel, we headed up to Whitefish Point to explore the Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum and the Whitefish Point Lighthouse! We got our tickets to the museum and for the tower climb, and quickly headed to meet up with the rest of the group. The climb up the tower was pretty easy and it was an amazing view of Lake Superior. We caught some glimpses of Canada up there too! It was a perfect day full of blue skies and blue water. We were so blessed with great weather on this day!

Upper Tahquamenon Falls

Onto our adventure to the Upper Tahquamenon Falls! Since it started raining the day before, we decided to postpone and go back the next day. I'm glad we did, but holy moly, it was busy! We had to wait in line for quite some time to get into the park, find a parking spot, and walk to view the falls. People everywhere! It seemed everyone else had the same idea as us to head to the falls for autumn colors. It was worth it though... so pretty up there! We first checked out the upper brink of the falls, and kept stopping at every turnout in the path, conquering lots of stairs to see every angle of the falls. It smelled so amazing up there. I could just breathe in that fresh cedar scent everyday!
