I know I owe you guys a full post on our debt free journey… but today I thought I’d start with one of the very first things you should start doing if you’re not already… which is creating a monthly budget. I’m teaming up with EveryDollar, which is Dave Ramsey’s FREE budget tool. If you’re a little intimidated by creating a budget… don’t worry! It’s super easy, and it’s a great way to knock out debt and tackle your goals. It’s so important to be intentional with your money instead of wondering where it all went at the end of the month. The goal of the tool (app + desktop available!) is to create a zero-based budget, which is a way of budgeting where your income minus your expenses equals zero, so you know exactly where every dollar is going before the month begins. I’m also giving away an EveryDollar Plus subscription (which is the paid version that automatically syncs with your bank account) so be sure to read on for details!
Read MoreI am legit rocking out to AC/DC’s “Back in Black” as I write this post. Hahaha. Was that a blog break or what? I just couldn’t get it together since the holidays, even though we’ve had the best, most mild winter ever. I like to kick off the new year with resolutions… setting a financial goal, or a new fitness goal, and sometimes the blog takes a little bit of a hit. But I should start setting more goals for this blog. I don’t! But I’m back (in black, har har) and I’m going to try my darnedest to start getting content up here regularly. Thank you so much for sticking around — as always! I appreciate it so much.

Hi friends! I took a little blog break over the holidays, which was so nice and needed! We celebrated Christmas with our families and rung in the new year with friends by renting a cottage together for the weekend. But now I’m ready to dive into the new year! 2018 was a wonderful year though — definitely with more ups than downs. I know not every year is bound to be like that one, but I’m so grateful I worked hard to make things happen! The ups were… losing 30 pounds and continuing my WW and FLEX routine, and officially becoming debt-free, which was a huge part of our year. We also took several amazing trips around Michigan, a trip to Phoenix, and I’m so thankful for my many memories with Eric, and my best girlfriends. The major down this year was the house fire, but we got through it and we’re back home safe and sound with no major damage done. I have some big goals for 2019… but it all starts with kicking off the month right and working hard day to day!

Does anyone else struggle with finding unique gifts every year? I feel like it’s always a challenge! And I don’t want my friends/family to end up with “stuff” they don’t want… so I feel like you can never go wrong with experiences… and food! Especially sweet treats they aren’t expecting! You’d never expect to get ice cream for Christmas, right?! That’s why I love this Signature Deluxe Party Pack from Graeter’s. I absolutely love their ice-cream, first and foremost. Second, this pack is awesome to give as a gift, or even to order for a corporate holiday party or to just enjoy at home! It comes with 12 pints of ice cream (not all shown, because we ate so many already), dessert sauce, an ice cream scooper, bowls, spoons and napkins.
Read MoreYou guys know how much I love sweet wine by now, right? And one of the first sweet reds I ever loved was Roscato! I remember during my World Market glory days (where I’d go at least once a week), I saw this wine… and was like, hmm. Moscato… but red? Roscato? And yes, it’s as delicious as it sounds. And I have a fun history with this wine… it’s won several Wine Clubs I’ve hosted with my girlfriends. First as a standalone wine, second mixed into a sangria. And for this post, I thought it’d be fun to try their Roscato Prosecco mixed into a wine spritzer for the holidays! The recipe is super easy… mix a bottle of Roscato Prosecco with a bottle of Roscato Rosso Dolce (or a sweet red wine, or even a cranberry cocktail juice), and throw in a few orange slices! Sweet, a little fizzy, and so good!

We’re so close to the holidays… do you have your holiday wish list yet? Are shoes on it?! I’m teaming up with Kohl’s to show off a few awesome brands available in store and on their website! In the cooler months, a great pair of boots are a must! I’m really loving this pair of Koolaburra by UGG® open-toe booties. They are so cute with a pair of raw-edge denim! I also love working out and fitness goals are always a top priority for new in my new year’s resolutions… so it’s the perfect time of year to pick up a cute new pair of tennis shoes! I’m loving these pink ones from New Balance. Keep reading to see how I styled both looks!
