Watching our favorites shows + movies with Xfinity

Is there anything better than cozying up on the sofa with snacks and enjoying a movie or great TV show when it’s cold outside? One of my favorite ways to relax is to put on some pajamas, pop some popcorn and rent a movie. Eric and I have Xfinity X1 at home. I love it because it gives me access to thousands of movies, records my favorite shows and makes it easy to stream programs on Hulu or Netflix. Not to mention, having the ability to pause a show in one room and resume watching it in another room is awesome. Especially since Eric is usually asleep on the sofa halfway through a movie! With X1, I can pause the movie, head into the bedroom, and finish watching it on my iPad. The flexibility really comes in handy when I’m watching a heated show (The Bachelor, anyone?!) and Eric wants to use the TV to play video games.

Xfinity sponsored this post. The opinions and text are my own.

Ando Sushi + Bar

So Eric and I checked out Ando Sushi + Bar this past weekend… and it was such a great experience! We’ve been wanting to check out this place for a while, so when they invited us in for a visit, we jumped at the chance! It’s located on the west side of Grand Rapids, in a super fun and upcoming neighborhood. The vibe was awesome, their joyful hour had some serious deals, and the food was delicious. I’m wondering where we’ve been this whole time, haha! But I’m so glad we checked it out, and already can’t wait to go back to try other things!

Acres of antiques

Hellooooo. Sorry for the long pause! I feel like we’re stuck in a never-ending winter and I just can’t seem to pull it together this season! Hoping spring will rejuvenate me somehow… if it EVER comes! But since March is here, at least we start to see more daylight, so hopefully that makes the blogging game a little easier. But! In the meantime, we took a quick trip over to Lansing area last weekend because Eric had a show with his band, Chain of Lakes (that sold out!) I thought it’d be fun to make a little adventure out of it, book a hotel, stay overnight and explore the area. It wasn’t my favorite trip — not a ton to do, but we did have a great time at his show at the Robin Theater, ate dinner at Lansing Brewing Company, brunch at Golden Harvest, a little window shopping in East Lansing, and then explored this little antiques district in Mason just south of Lansing. So all in all — a good little getaway!

Winter walks with Milk-Bone® Treats at Meijer

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Milk-Bone®. The opinions and text are all mine.

Anyone else get a little bit stir crazy this time of year? Instead of staying indoors, I’ve been trying to get out a little bit more… just to get some fresh air and change it up a little bit! Having a dog is the perfect excuse to get outside and I can always convince Winny to brave the cold with me if I tempt her with delicious treats! She’s loving these new Milk-Bone® GnawBones and Milk-Bone® Wonder Bones I picked up at Meijer! I’m loving them too, because they are long lasting and can keep her satisfied for longer! Be sure to check out the Meijer mPerks offer right now that’s good for $4 off your next Meijer purchase when you spend $15 on Milk-Bone® products!

Holton Arid Garden

Helloooo from the winter wonderland of Michigan. We escaped to the “desert” for a day to beat some of these winter blues, which was just ugh, so refreshing. I could sit here all day long. If you’re in Grand Rapids or ever visit Grand Rapids, be sure to head over to Frederik Meijer Gardens! We ended up getting a membership last year (mostly to get first dibs on their concert series, haha) but it’s nice to be able to pop over anytime and walk around for a bit. Especially in their Tropical Conservatory. Ah, heaven! Trying to love every day of winter, but I don’t know, I just get to be a bit over it this time of year. It just drags on and on and onnnnnn. And we’ve had the craziest weather and my car has gotten stuck in the snow more times than I can remember this year. So maybe I’m not even desperate for spring yet… maybe just some normal 32º winter days. 😆

Polar vortex

We survived the polar vortex! Whoa, what a week. I’ve never seen so much snow at our apartment, and our office never closes… and we locked the doors for two days with an option to work from home. I didn’t leave the house Tuesday night to Thursday afternoon. It was nuts! The craziest winter weather I can remember. And now, of course, Michigan… it’s 45º and pretty much all melted at this point. But to say I fell off the bandwagon with everything is an understatement — blogging, Instagram, going to FLEX, eating healthy. I’m so much more accomplished when I’m in a routine, so I’m super glad to be back at it today with some normalcy!
