Extending WiFi into our new porch with Xfinity

One of my favorite places to hang out in our apartment is our newly decorated and furnished outdoor back porch. We bought a sectional couch with some throw pillows, twinkle lights, a lantern, and a citronella candle… and it’s so cozy! However, it’s also really far away from our wireless router indoors. At first, our WiFi signal was weak, so we weren’t able to work out there or listen to our Sonos speaker. But thankfully, Xfinity came to the rescue with its xFi Pods! They enhance and extend your WiFi coverage throughout your home, eliminating all those dead spots. We bought a three-pack and added xFi Pods to both ends of the house. Now we’re easily able to work on the internet and listen to music from our front or back porch!

This little patio came together so perfectly. We weren’t planning to do anything with the space, because it is so small… but then we found a sofa on clearance, and we decided to go for it! We hosted a party at our house recently, and everyone loved hanging out in this little nook! It’s a fan favorite in our apartment, so I’m very glad we’re now able to work and hang out there a little more often. I love relaxing with a glass of wine and scrolling through Instagram or Pinterest. It’s my little “me” time, so being able to do that on WiFi instead of using my phone data is super convenient! Plus, we love listening to music when we’re at home. Our Sonos system is in constant use inside the house, so being able to put a speaker out on the patio, connect to our WiFi, and listen to jams is a major plus. What’s cozier than a couch patio at night with twinkling lights and some chill jams, am I right?!

Do you have an outdoor area at your home where you can hang out? Before we put together this little space, we didn’t have much. We have a porch swing at the front of the house, which is super cute, but it’s definitely not very comfortable. Before we redid the back porch, we just had a little patio table and chairs out here. We’d sometimes eat out here, but this is a much better use of the space! Patios, basements and rooms upstairs can be problematic when it comes to getting a strong WiFi signal, so if you’re having trouble with dead spots in your home, check out Xfinity’s xFi pods!

Xfinity helps give you control of the WiFi in your home, and you can manage it all from the xFi app. Eric was excited to get it all set up because the app lets you view connected devices, change your network name/password, set bedtime modes, and more! Let me know if you have any questions in the comments!
