Log deck
I’ve always loved seeing photos with giant log piles like this… and I pass them all the time in the UP, so I finally stopped to take some photos. SO FUN. This exact spot is along 41 near Trenary. But they are literally all over the place UP here, there’s another great spot on the corner of 41 and 2, which I’d love to go back and get more photos once snow has really hit. We’ve got a small dusting of snow now, but not enough. I’m excited for all the wintry adventures! Anyway, I put up an IG post saying I’m working on my signature Yoop style. All I want to wear here is Carhartt beanies and plaid (and all the warm things, hence the teddy coat). I need some camo. And asked “what else am I missing, Yoopers?" Overalls? More plaid?” and some of the comments on that post were my favorite. Insulated coveralls, muck boots, snowshoes, Sorels, and I was told that if I want to be a Yooper I cannot call it a beanie… it’s a chook, eh. Hahaha. So fun. I just love how incredibly unique this place is and the people are just so kind and fun and have my whole heart.
Anyway, not much else is new! I’m finally getting caught up on blog posts and IG posts, but now that sort of pressures me a bit to get outside and make sure I’m continuing to create content. It’s starting to get cold here and windy. We’ve had pretty mild weather so far to be honest. So I’m really going to have to brave up, layer up and get out there! This weekend I decided to sort of stay put at home because I need to crank out some photos and content for a big collab I’m working on. Excited to share that soon! The holidays are quickly approaching… and honestly, the spirit just isn’t there for me this year. No tree, no decorations UP here. Thankfully I have a ton of windows and my neighbors all have Christmas lights, so that’s cozy as I watch Netflix Christmas movies and eat Christmas cookies my friends mailed me, but other than that, it’s just a very odd year! Hope you’re all hanging in there and doing well!
