Yellow Dog River Bridge

Living in the Upper Peninsula for five years now (what!), I’m quickly becoming a location repeater, just because… I have my favorite spots up here in different seasons now! This bridge, well not even technically a bridge, but it’s a snowmobile bridge over the Yellow Dog River near Big Bay, but it’s just a vibeeeee! I always like how my photos turn out here. Plus, I honestly love tradition… and routines, it’s grounding? Like something to look forward to every year? Also takes some guesswork out of where to take photos? I don’t know. But I ventured out here quickly on a weeknight, was racing to make sure I hit that golden hour light, and wore a little bit different of an outfit! We finally have some chillier temperatures up here, so I can layer, and I just love autumn style and colors. It’s the best.

I picked up this skirt from a local boutique in Marquette, but I actually was able to link to an exact product this time from another boutique, lol. (So rare these days.) And it’s on sale for less than $20! But I thrifted this coat last winter from a shop in Houghton, and have had this cardigan for quite a few years now. I haven’t done any shopping this fall, which is kind of nice, just repurposing some things I bought this summer into fall, and relying on some old favorite staples! It’s always fun to see how far a few key layers can stretch your wardrobe — a cardigan or coat can completely change the vibe of a piece you wore all summer.

So yeah, what else!? I’ve been blogging long enough to know these are the posts that matter most… just the simple, everyday ones that document what life actually looks like. Not every post is a big trip or a new lighthouse, sometimes it’s just what I wore, what life feels like right now, they’re some of my favorite to look back on and re-read. The next few weeks are shaping up to be busy… taking a quick fall color trip to the Porkies, some vacation days I need to plan out, cozy weekends in Marquette, watching spooky movies (Psycho last night, such a classic), figuring out a Halloween costume (why do I always wait til the last minute!?) but trying to hang onto these slower moments too, because they always end up being my favorite moments of the season. I just wish this month lasted longer! Ok, thanks as always for reading! I still love to blog, despite living in a social media world. 😜
