Ahh... tulip season is here! It's my favorite time of spring. I absolutely love heading to Holland to see the fields in bloom. Eric and I have figured out that going on a weeknight is so much smarter to avoid the tourists, so we ended up going last Thursday as soon as we got out of work! We went to Veldheer Tulip Gardens this year. We've been going here the last few years, because they stay open until 7pm... where Windmill Island Garden closes at 6pm. Boo! So maybe next year we'll have to try going on a weekend and fighting the crowds to view the island... but this year, we're back at Veldheer!

Onto a new month! May is by far my favorite spring month. Mostly because of the tulips… but it’s going to be even better this year because spring is JUST starting to bloom here in Michigan. That also means I need to get my butt into gear to take more photos. I’ve been struggling with the blog and ‘gram lately. I think I’ve just realized more and more as I’ve continued this blog (almost 9 years!) is that I need it to fit into my daily life, not the other way around. I just need to take photos of where we’re at, wherever we go, even if it’s not that exciting. Because honestly, who’s life is exciting all the time? I think bloggers just feel this pressure to have everything beautifully curated and well-lit, and damn it’s hard sometimes! My life is so messy and hardworking right now, but I love it, so I need to blog more about that, and take some of the pressure off of it! So I’m going to try and push myself a bit more to open up and stop being so scared of posting something that’s not "perfect". Because that’s just silly. Nobody is perfect.

Yay for spring! The sun is shining. These mild temps are perfect! I’m so thrilled to be able to put away my winter boots and bring out some cute flats! Happy (finally) spring! Well... at least here in Michigan. Last week, we suffered through an awful ice storm and SNOW that actually stuck around for days. Needless to say, I took a week off from taking pictures, posting here, and posting on IG. I just couldn't bring myself to put on a happy face during those dark, dark times. Hahaha. But here we are! It was actually over 70º today. So nuts. But I'm so grateful. The sunshine, warm wind, mild temperatures... it's giving me life! I love winter, and I get that I live in Michigan where it's winter the majority of the year, but to have snow and ice into the end of April is SO depressing. Glad spring has finally come around!
