Mother Stewart's Brewing

Onto my last post from Springfield, Ohio! Excuse the wrinkles, but this was at the very tail end of our trip after two action-packed days. (I also forgot our steamer.) But! I just had to blog these photos, because the brewery was so cool... and Eric's outfit was cooler than mine! But on our last night in town, we headed over to Mother Stewart's Brewing. It was awesome! I loved it. The vibe was really cool, they had a great selection of beers (and lots of options for non-beer drinkers!). I went for a rosé sangria on ice that was delicious. We enjoyed drinks outside in the outdoor beer garden and enjoyed watching all of the fireflies. So many fireflies on this trip!

Mother Stewart's Brewing was awesome though! Definitely a gem in Springfield. Super walkable from our hotel, and located right in the heart of downtown. The brewery is named after Eliza Daniel Stewart (aka "Mother Stewart), an important temperance figure of her time. It's located in the former Springfield Metallic Casket Warehouse, and has a big family-friendly taproom and outdoor beer garden. We were there on a Thursday, but it would have been fun to check out on the weekend. I'm sure that place is hoppin'! Definitely worth a visit though if you're in the Springfield area.

After the brewery, we headed back to our hotel for the evening! Unfortunately I got so insanely sick that night, and we had to leave early the next morning and miss out on a cavern tour. I couldn't figure it out... and thought at first maybe I had food poisoning? So I was recapping in my head everything I ate... and I was like, it makes no sense! And then I remembered I took a very small sip from the Yellow Spring when we were on our nature walk. (A lot of people on Instagram did it; and it looked like a local "tradition"!) I don't know if that caused it, but be forewarned... don't drink from the spring in Yellow Springs! Hahah.

But that recaps our trip to Springfield, Ohio! Like I mentioned before, it's a pretty easy road trip if you're from the Grand Rapids area... and pretty central in Ohio if you're traveling through the midwest! We loved exploring Springfield's downtown, all the food we ate, and checking out Yellow Springs. Winan's Chocolates & Coffee was one of my favorite places, and Eric loved Yellow Springs Brewery. Let me know if you have any other recommendations for the area of places you love to visit!
