West side rooftop

August is a freaking vibe, you guys! I don’t know what it is. Well, I know for a fact… it’s the best summer month in Michigan, in my opinion at least. The days are a little cooler, but the breeze feels warmer. Our sunsets lately have been so magical. Golden hours are everything right now. 🙌🏻 I don’t know. I’m just sort of living for this month right now, haha. But yeah, these photos are a moment in time. West side, golden hour, peach & honey wine, rooftop views, right on the cusp of a new season and some big things coming up. It’s all good! I’m feeling sort of dreamer feels right now, semi-living in the future and upcoming plans, but really holding onto this present moment too for as long as I can while it’s still here.

But yeah, these photos were snapped on my 34th birthday! I was literally stuffed on Olive Garden chicken aflredo + unlimited breadsticks + 3 variations of sangria, lol. Afterwards, the evening was spent with wine and confetti cake on the rooftop! Maybe not my favorite birthday day, but I know this year is going to be amazing + pivotal. So for my birthday, I actually put on a DRESS! Hahaha, it’s so funny. When I started Selective Potential, all I wore was dresses pretty much! My closet was a wonderland of quirky ModCloth dresses and funky patterned tights. Now I’m all about my Madewell denim + classic button tops + tawny-everything. It’s been fun to see my style change/evolve over the years. As much as I love fashion, my personal style has definitely gravitated more toward a down-to-earth, girl-next-door, classic vibe, which maybe isn’t the most exciting for a style blog. So I’m glad you guys still shop my links + read my posts, haha. Thank you!

Well we’re almost halfway through the month. I took an amazing trip last weekend to the upper peninsula with my girlfriends, so I’ll be blogging all about that next. I’ll be gone again this weekend dogsitting for my parent’s in Muskegon, so it’ll be fun to hit up the beach and try a few new restaurants there. It’s honestly been years since I’ve spent a full weekend in Muskegon (my hometown), so I’m excited. But other than that… August is going to be full-up with tubing trips, hosting Wine Club at my apartment, working on some big plans for September/October, patio drinks, and enjoying these last weeks of summer! I hope you guys are having a great August so far. I’ll be back with a full post on my weekend in MQT this week! xo
