The sunflower field

I love that I can have weeknight adventures like this in the UP… chasing that golden hour light to a field of sunflowers! I just wish I would have came one week earlier… I was juuuuust past peak season. The sunflowers were a little droopy, but still such a vibe, especially during sunset. I drove from Marquette to Rock, which is about an hour, where Hall Farms is located… and includes this massive sunflower field that’s available to the public! I walked through the rows of sunflowers for a bit, snapping photos, and then found this wooden platform which made the view so much better! But yeah, definitely worth a visit. It’s magical. I think… second week of August would be perfect.

What’s new here? I’m just trying to enjoy those end-of-summer vibes. I’ve had such a busy last few weeks, and it’s been wonderful to have distractions, friends visiting Marquette, and social plans, but I’m also sort of excited to slow down, be more intentional, and work on some goals moving forward… and that definitely includes getting out for more photos/blog content! My goal is to sort of focus on personal style vs. travel/adventure for a minute here, until fall when I plan to travel more to the west side of the UP. But right now, I’m just focused on myself. Running, eating/cooking healthy, spending time with friends, working on my blog/photography, reading more, getting out for bike rides, healing my heart, continuing to vibe solo. Life has been a little tough lately, but I’m proud of the strides I’ve made and how much I’ve grown. In a month, I’ll be celebrating my 1-year UP anniversary and what an adventure it’s been. What a life-changing adventure. I’m so grateful.

I’ve been recently picking up a few new things for my closet that’ll transition nicely into autumn… especially during Madewell’s 40% off sales! This top isn’t normally a piece I’d gravitate toward, but I loved the sweetheart neckline and fun pattern, so I figured I’d give it a try! I’m just… always excited to dress for these transitional times. Fall and spring are my favorite times to get dressed and ramp up my personal style a bit more. And especially the switch from summer to fall. Maybe it’s because this is when I started my blog? I started it right at the end of summer, Labor Day weekend, in 2009… can you believe it’s going to be my 12th blogiversary? Oof! But anyway, I hope you’re all doing great. Thank you for continuing to read! Enjoy the last couple of weeks of summer!
