Silk’n not shaven

Silk'n Beautiful Technology

As we begin winter, I like to start thinking more about my beauty routine, especially on areas of myself that I'm excited to show more of in summer. And that most definitely includes silky smooth legs. I'm all for body hair if that's your thing, but I just love the feeling of smooth, hair-free legs. I'm going to talk about how we can achieve that with the help of Silk’n Flash&Go Express!

I've always been curious about permanent hair removal, but honestly, haven't been brave enough to have it done anywhere. I remember a couple of years ago, I purchased a Groupon for hair removal, and was so excited and hopeful as I headed to my first appointment. When I first pulled up, it was in a strange building in an industrial park, and I just felt so uncomfortable walking in, filling out paperwork, basically signing a waiver that they might burn my skin off, and by the time they called my name, I bolted. I was in sheer panic. I don't do well with pain (and I've heard it HURTS), and I'd honestly rather live with shaving and razor burn than a terrifying experience. Maybe I overreacted, but I was incredibly nervous.

So, in short, I was really excited to learn I could achieve permanent hair removal at home, with zero pain. I honestly had no idea that was a possibility. Flash&Go Express provides a LIFETIME of hair removal! I've been using it for three weeks so far (two treatments), and initially started with a test spot, just to make sure I didn't have any strange reactions to the light treatment. I can't wait to start using this everywhere. Armpits, legs, bikini line, you name it. And winter is the perfect time to get a jump start to having silky smooth legs for summer.

HPL

What is HPL? It means Home Pulsed Light Technology™. This compact design uses gentle pulses of light to disable hair growth at the root. Most users experience a reduction in hair growth after just a handful of treatments. And it's completely painless. It's recommended you zap your chosen area every two weeks for 4-5 sessions, and monthly after that. You will start to see results with in about 3-4 sessions or about 6-8 weeks. It also might take you a little while to do both of your legs (having to zap each spot) but it's very quick to target one area (armpits, etc.) Unfortunately, HPL isn't right for all hair colors or skin types, as it targets the color pigment in hairs. The technology is best suited for lighter skin tones and darker hair. They have a built-in skin color sensor which prevents the device from turning on if the skin tone is too dark to treat.

$$$

Purchasing one of these devices can feel a bit like a splurge, but if you were considering going to a clinic (or wasting your money on an unused Groupon like me), this is FAR more cost effective. You can do it on your own terms, in the comfort of your own home, and you don't need to worry about a stranger poking around.

The $299.00 covers a lifetime of permanent hair removal for TWO users, so this could be a great gift to share with a sibling, or your husband/wife. There are no refill cartridges needed, and it includes a deluxe carrying case, power cord, and three different power adaptors, in case you're traveling. It's definitely a wise investment if you're already planning on having hair removal done, and will save you in the long run!

My first treatment

So if you're a little hesitant about at-home hair removal, or wondering if it's going to be painful or scary, I was in the same boat! I remember taking it out of the box, plugging it in, and re-reading the manual a hundred times over. I had no idea what I was doing, and to be honest, I was nervous. But the manual was super easy to follow, and I felt silly after at how easy it was. I plugged it in, pressed the power button (it sounds like a mini hair dryer), confirmed it was on level one (to start my first treatment),  pressed it against my skin, freaked out for a second, pulled the trigger, and it made a small pop (which is normal) and I saw a flash of light, and that was it! It didn't hurt, it wasn't scary, I didn't feel a thing honestly. No red skin, no strange reactions, just easy.

Goodbye, razor burn

The thing I'm most excited about with this product is eliminating the need to have to shave... every single day. I have dark leg hair, and I have to shave my legs every single day in the summer, otherwise I'm a prickly cactus. I also get terrible razor burn, and never found a fix for it, so finding the Flash&Go is almost too good to be true. I can eliminate two major summer woes by going through the process this winter. I'm honestly excited! Plus, shaving takes SO much time. Can you imagine waking up in the morning, silky smooth, and throwing on a dress and heading out the door? I honestly can't, and this product gives me hope I can do that this summer!

I know that was a bit long, but here are a few pros and cons of the Silk'n Flash & Go Express:

Pros: Cost-effective hair removal, totally pain free, provides a lifetime of permanent hair removal for up to two users, convenient at-home treatment, no cartridges to buy/refill, safe and FDA cleared, easy to use

Cons: Doesn't work on certain hair colors (gray/white, blonde) or darker skin tones, can take a little while (6-8 weeks) to achieve results, full hair removal can take up to 6 months
