Cinco de Mayo

To celebrate Cinco de Mayo, Eric and I walked down the street in our neighborhood to our local favorite hang, Donkey Taqueria. For the holiday, they hire a mariachi/rock band that livens up the block, give out free sombreros and serve up the best Mexican food and margaritas in the city! We had to wait over an hour and a half for a table, but it was worth it. Lots of fun people watching, and music to listen to while we waited! We ended up getting a table outside, enjoyed the band, the dancing, and had a fun date night.

They had a new blackberry margarita, so we tried that. We also ordered up a couple of my favorite mango margaritas! For dinner, we had their amazing queso fundido de chorizo (cheese melted with chorizo and peppers, served with warm tortillas), chips and guacamole, and a few of our favorite tacos – the taco de panza (seared pork belly), taco de pescado (beer battered fish) and Eric's favorite, the taco de cangrejo rio (fried crawfish). If you're ever in the area, be sure to check this place out. It's so delicious, and has an amazing vibe, especially on the outdoor patio with the twinkle lights at night!

We ended up with a table outside, but I really wanted to snap a few pictures of the inside so you can see why I wore this dress! It seriously matches perfectly to their walls. You guys know how much I love to match my outfits to my surroundings! I bought this dress maybe 2 years ago now, and this is my first time wearing it (same with these shoes). That's how sad my closet was before I started this Stylebook adventure. Now I feel like I'm utilizing more of my wardrobe... and it's such a good feeling! I'm excited for this summer to wear "new" stuff all the time, instead of the same ole' same ole'.

I hope you guys had a fun Cinco de Mayo! Did you do anything special or have any fun traditions? I think as long as we live in this neighborhood, we'll be here. It's too fun not to be! Afterward, we grabbed a drink at another local favorite, The Winchester, for their N'Synco de Mayo party (the DJ played all boy bands and 90s jams.) So fun. We ran into our favorite neighbors, Drew & Alyssa, and ended up spending the rest of the night with them, and I had so much fun. Perfect evening! xo
