Keweenaw Waterway Upper Entrance Lighthouse

On our last full day in the Keweenaw Peninsula, we hopped down to Houghton to stay the night and explore the "big city"! It took about an hour to get from Copper Harbor to Houghton, which is really pretty average for any drive up there. If you ever plan a trip to the Upper Peninsula, definitely plan on a lot of driving to get from place to place! We checked into our hotel, freshened up, and headed out to the J.F McLain State Park to find the Keweenaw Waterway Upper Entrance Lighthouse.

This lighthouse was easy to find! If you have a Michigan recreation passport, then you can head right into the park, find a parking spot and walk down the beach to the pier. You had to hop over a few logs to walk the pier, and you couldn't walk all the way to the end where the lighthouse sits since it's a breakwall. I tried to scale a few of the giant rocks, which is insanely tough, especially in this little romper and sandals I was wearing! We got through a little portion of rocks, quickly realized it'd take us hours to get all the way to the end, and settled where we were to grab a few pictures.

I recently received this adorable little striped romper from Entourage Clothing! They have SO many cute rompers right now, and a lot of them are on sale for under $20! Their summer sale is awesome right now. I love finding affordable, cute online boutiques. Who doesn't, right? I paired the romper with my favorite black sandals from ModCloth (which are sold out, but I've linked a similar style below which are on sale) and this red patterned kimono from last summer for when the wind picked up a little bit. Also, ModCloth is having a huge 40% off all sale items right now with code "TOOHOT", so be sure to check that out!

I'll be back on Friday with one more post from our trip to downtown Houghton, and then we're done with the Keweenaw Peninsula! I'm really excited because I have a queue of posts lined up, which I'm slowly working on sorting through photos. As a full-time working gal and part-time blogger, it just feels good to have content ready to post on a consistent schedule. Especially lately because I've been so busy. I signed up for another two-week bootcamp, which is every single weekday. Plus, with cooking dinner, trying to spend time with friends, and keeping up with the apartment and everything else, summer has been flying by! If you've been following on Instagram, you sort of know what's coming... but plan on a trip on M-22, a day in Traverse City, and the BEST weekend in Port Austin coming soon! Have I said yet how grateful I am for this season of travel? I've seriously had so much fun. Summer, you are the best.
