Packing my entertainment for our summer trips

Hello, summer! As most of you know, this is my season to travel — and I love to travel locally here in Michigan, so summer gets to be pretty busy! But while I'm taking advantage of every minute of the season, I still love to unwind and have my "me" time – which usually includes a low-key night catching up on a favorite TV show or movie. Thanks to the Xfinity Stream App, I can spend the entire day exploring and hitting up my favorite places, and when I'm back home or at my hotel at night, I still have access to my entertainment. It's super convenient to pack my iPad for our trips away and have access to my entire TV line-up, plus tons of On Demand movies on the go!

When I travel, some of my favorite places to visit are the little towns or islands in Michigan. These small towns are known for their charm, but they often have limited nightlife and entertainment options back at the hotel. When I traveled to Beaver Island a couple of summers ago, the TV didn't have cable, but they did have a VCR where I could pick out a movie in the hallway! It was fun, but we quickly ran out of options. Thankfully, I was able to watch all my favorite TV shows on my iPad with my Xfinity Stream App at the hotel.

This summer, I have a few upcoming trips where it'll be so nice and convenient to have my entertainment with me! One of my favorite things to do (yes, even on vacation) is to grab snacks from the lobby, crawl into bed and watch a movie after a long day of exploring, eating and drinking. With Xfinity, I'll have plenty of downtime options, whether I’m heading out on a girl's wine weekend (nightly chick flicks, anyone?!) or a trip to the Upper Peninsula where the breweries close early!

I also love having something to watch during the actual travel portions of my day. When I’m riding in a car for eight hours to visit a lighthouse in Michigan or taking a flight a few hours south, it's nice to have my iPad queued up to binge-watch a new TV show or stream my DVR recordings on the go.

You can even download recorded shows to watch when you're offline, which is so convenient for times when Wi-Fi is lacking — especially in the car or in those tiny hotels. If you're interested, you can download the Xfinity Stream App or watch online here!
