A Few of My Favorite Things #2

LATELY

Phew, quiet week on the blog! I’ve just been a busy bee lately! We’ve been working on our apartment quite a bit, and finally getting our second bedroom turned into a guest room. That meant last week was full of mattress shopping, and an IKEA trip. I’ve also had a lot going on — hair appointment (went a little blonder!), lots of concerts this week, and I also ran the River Bank Run 5K. I was training for the 10K but after my wisdom tooth surgery last February, I fell off the bandwagon. But I’m glad I did the 5K! It motivated me to try and continue running and maybe look for a 10K at the end of the summer. I’ll be back to outfit posts soon, but in the meantime, I thought it’d be fun to do a second installment of the 'a few of my favorite things' series! Hope you enjoy! (Psst... this "Don't Worry, Be Happy" print is from Rifle Paper Co. It's such a happy art print and is currently brightening up our guest room!)

DESIGN DESIGN

I recently discovered Design Design Inc., which is a paper products and greeting cards company out of Grand Rapids, MI. They’ve been around for 30 years, but have recently gone through a rebranding process, and I’m loving their products, especially their letterpress and artisan cards. I recently received a few samples, and I was super impressed! This pink bouquet journal is so pretty for spring, and I love the 'some cliche bullshit' and the 'I love you to the moon and back' cards pictured above. Be sure to check out their website... so many cute options and lots of options for different upcoming occasions!

BIRCHBOX

Am I the only one crazy enough to be new to Birchbox? I signed up about four months ago, because I was interested in trying out new products... but honestly didn't really have a clue where to start. I thought this would be fun to try a few samples and new products, with no major commitment of buying a full sized bottle of something. And I love it! I honestly love it. I've gotten so many great products, especially for hair and deep conditioning. I love trying the perfume samples, the skin masks, and there have been a few makeup products I've loved too. I even found a new favorite mascara! I definitely look forward to receiving these cute little boxes each month. If you're interested in signing up, here's my referral link!

KENSINGTON SUNGLASSES

I've been on a sunglasses buying frenzy lately, but my favorite ones right now are these Free People Collection Kensington Sunglasses in Lavender. I was scrolling through blogs on Bloglovin' per usual, and I always love the different shades Julia from Gal Meets Glam wears... and instantly had to have these when I saw them in her post in Verona! They are such a fun way to spice up an outfit, and feel edgy and feminine at the same time. Super cute and perfect for spring/summer!

MAYBELLINE CREAMY MATTES

I've always been a fan of Maybelline lipsticks, but I'm obsessed with three new colors right now... Craving Coral, Vivid Rose and Pink Sugar. The mattes are beautiful. They stick to your lips way longer than other types, and are so bold and colorful. Pink Sugar and Craving Coral are my two favorite mattes right now. I recently wore Craving Coral in my Cinco de Mayo post. My other favorite color, which isn't a matte but is still really colorful/bold, is Vivid Rose. This is the color I recently wore in my Purple Trees post. I'm pretty sure these will be my go-to colors this summer!

KALAMAZOO CANDLE CO.

I recently found out about Kalamazoo Candle Company on our Rockford trip to Bailey & James Boutique. I remember spotting these, loving the design of the candles, and then sniffing every variation. I eventually decided on Lemongrass, because I just love the scent of lemon. I've always been a citrus gal. But after reading up on the company, I fell in love even more! Started by a guy named Adam, they are a local Michigan company (handcrafted right in Kalamazoo), and their candles are made with soy wax, paper wick and dye-free, so they're about as "natural as it gets". They also have scents like 'fresh cut grass', 'salted grapefruit' and 'peach harvest'. Yum.
