Dead River Falls

One of my favorite adventures in Marquette is to Dead River Falls! It’s a super quick and easy drive from downtown Marquette (about 14 minutes) and only 7 minutes from our local Target, haha! That’s exactly what I did on this day… stopped to Target and Ulta, made my way over to hike the falls quick, and then home to enjoy the rest of my Sunday! I love this town. But if you’re looking to get to this waterfall… Google Maps will take you right there. There’s a small parking lot, you can park there, and hike up a little gravel road (kind of steep but doable), and then just follow the trail to the wood log that says “Dead River Falls”, take that, navigate a few tree roots, and you’ll walk right up to it! Also be sure to check out Reany Falls on your way in or out too! It’s right there, and most people miss it!

Our fall weather held out so long through November, it felt like! We still had a ton of color and leaves on the trees until the last week with high gale winds and now we’ve got some snow. I’m not entirely ready for snow yet… always prefer it to be after Thanksgiving, but I was walking home the other day and thinking, “I’m not even mad. I love Marquette too much that I’m not even mad.” Hahaha. But yeah, onto the last week and a half of Season XIII before I head home for the holidays. Life is truckin’ along. I just took an overnight trip to Eagle River/Eagle Harbor, have been running consistently, eating at home, trying to save money, getting rid of stuff and getting organized, working on the blog/IG, just in “me” mode right now, which feels right. Otherwise, not much else is new. Hope you’re all having a great November so far!
