Spring begins

Hello, spring! I'm so thrilled a new season is here. Finally! To be fair, this winter did go by pretty quickly... but I'm definitely glad it's behind us. I especially love transitional seasons (spring/autumn) for personal style. It's fun to get dressed this time of year! I'm excited to be bringing out a few new items I purchased recently (after redefining my personal style more!) like these new clogs, lighter wash jeans, and this breezy floral top with flared sleeves! I've defined my style as "folksy girl-next door". Folksy meaning informal and unpretentious, and in my own terms, gives a nod to boho style. Girl-next-door is where I feel I can be a little feminine and girly, but casual and approachable. I seriously am loving this book, and can't wait to see how my style continues to evolve this season!

Holy slackamole! I totally went missing there for a few days... err weeks, didn't I? I swear, sometimes time just goes so slow, and other times, it absolutely flies, and you have no idea what you did or how you got anything done. It's just been a whirlwind last couple of weeks! Eric had a couple of shows, I had a hair appointment (got a trim and a little more color for spring!), we saw a comedy show during LaughFest (which was so fun), we survived St. Patrick's Day (my least favorite day of the year), we ran the Irish Jig 5K (34 minutes!) and we saw Dawes in Kalamazoo. Phew! Busy, busy. And mostly all good. And even today, we're saying goodbye to winter... and hello to spring tomorrow. Yay!

Casual Wednesday

Happy International Women's Day, gals! I wasn't planning on posting today, but I'm really trying to hit that 12x March goal... so here we are. I had to work today as well, but I'm proud to see a lot of colleagues wearing red and I donated to the National Women's Law Center, which protects and promotes equality and opportunity for women and families in all stages of life. Hope you are able to promote positivity surrounding women today, and just enjoy the day yourself!

End of winter

We're so close to the end of winter... I'm counting the days! I've been kind of bored lately, to be honest. I think it's just a mix of cabin fever, wanting to travel, but being a grown up and sticking to what I said I was going to do... not travel, pay off debt, and save money. So, we're doing that, and I'm so proud of that, but I've also been feeling blah lately. I think that just comes with this time of the year anyway, but yeah, I'm excited for spring and all the fun that brings! We can visit the tulip fields, take small day trips, and get outta the house without spending very much money at all. I'm looking forward to it, that's for sure.

Earthy tones

Can you believe we're pretty much done with February? I'm so pumped. February is my least favorite month (second to January) but this February has just been weird. In some ways, I feel like I made progress (finding my aesthetic and personal style) and other ways I just totally tanked (eating healthy and exercising). I'll chat more about this in my small goals post coming up, but yeah. The weather was so strange this month (super warm 60º weather and then snow the next weekend) and for some reason the days just felt SO long, but somehow now we only have one day left of the month. February, you crazy.

Feels like spring

Phew, this week is flying by. It's one of those weeks where you feel like you haven't had a second to sit and gather your thoughts, you know? We've just been busy! It's been good, and I really do like being busy, but I haven't been able to catch up on This Is Us yet or spend any time just vegging out! This weekend, I have zero plans, which is amazing. I plan to conquer my to-do list, spend some time working on spring cleaning, organizing my closet, cleaning out my car, and planning some outfits for next week. It definitely feels like spring here in Michigan right now and I'm kind of loving it, even though it's just SO weird!
