Fallen leaves

We're into the best time of the year... peak color! In Michigan, we're just at the beginning of it too. The lakeshore is still pretty green. It's been an unseasonably warm autumn. I can't complain, because it's amazing to have color like this and not have to be totally bundled up. Plus, it extends my favorite season even further into November, but it's definitely different to be celebrating Halloween with full color on the trees! Usually all of the trees are almost bare by this time of year, so I'm definitely a happy gal right now. Autumn can stay forever!

This past weekend was so good! Friday night, Eric and I went downtown to eat dinner at Hopcat and went to see Har Mar Superstar, which was fun and ridiculous. Saturday, I made pumpkin spice pancakes for breakfast and we watched Hide and Seek. After that, I scrubbed our entire apartment and then headed to Owosso for the Michigan Blogger Mixer! It was so awesome to meet a few new bloggers, and connect with old friends! I had a blast listening to the panel speakers. It's so great to be around people you can talk about blogging with. On Sunday, I had a bunch of friends over to do Halloween-costume crafting and mimosa drinking. We ended up hanging out almost all day, and it was so much fun.

I'm just really happy about life right now. I know it's mostly because I'm obsessed with this season, crazily looking forward to Halloween, and we have so many fun upcoming plans. But also, because I've been surrounded by the most amazing and inspiring people lately. Bloggers who are authentic, and hardworking, and killing it. Friends who are SUCH good friends, it's insane. And being around Eric everyday is honestly inspiring. He's so talented, and passionate with his music, and it motivates me to work harder at the things I love (blogging/photography/design). I'm just content right now, which is good. Really, really good.

I was rushing out the door to go see Eric play, had five minutes to get ready, and very quickly threw this outfit together... and ended up loving it! The best thing about having a curated wardrobe for each season is that it's super easy to mix and match. Burgundy, burnt orange and olive green? Why not? I do need to get a little bit better about not wearing jeans every single day though. It's all I want to wear lately. Jeans, a chunky cardigan, booties and a brimmed hat. I really wish I could link to this amazing cardigan, but I got it at the Express outlet and I even went back to the store to get it in more colors (I seriously love it) but ALL of the colors were sold out. SAD FACE. But it's seriously my favorite cardigan.
