"Me Time" During The Holiday Season

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Oregon Chai®. As always, opinions and text are all mine!

We’re approaching the time of year where I need to make sure I set aside some “me time” before the holiday craziness kicks in! For me, that especially means, curling up in front of a good holiday movie, in comfy pajamas, with a candle burning, and drinking a cozy warm beverage, like this delicious vanilla chai tea latte. I’ve always ordered chai lattes out and about at coffee shops, but never thought to make my own at home! I picked up Oregon Chai® “The Original” from Meijer last weekend to try it out! It’s perfect because I can create my own concoction using ingredients I love and try different recipes to mix it up a little bit for different seasons. Plus, it’s better for you than other alternatives! Ahem, coffee, ahem.

I’ve been looking for a coffee replacement for a while, and since I’m not a huge fan of cocoa, I kept going back to coffee. It’s not that I needed coffee or caffeine in the morning, but I just wanted a “warm cozy beverage,” especially first thing in the morning. It’s been so cold and dark here lately in Michigan, that it’s hard to imagine heading into work without having a cup of something to warm me up. But coffee was giving me headaches and jitters, so I’m excited to see if I feel better after making the switch to something else! Plus, chai lattes offer some delicious on-trend flavors, and they are better for you!

For my first attempt at an at-home chai latte, I kept it easy and simple. I mixed half Oregon Chai “The Original” with half unsweetened vanilla almond milk. It was so delicious! Eric and I have been drinking plenty of these at home since trying our first one. I’m really looking forward to trying other recipes too. Oregon Chai has a bunch of recipes listed on their website, which is so fun and helpful. Their egg nog and cider recipes sound so tasty for the upcoming holidays! Plus, I love that you can cook with the concentrate too. Chai French Toast, or Chai Bread? Seriously… that sounds so yummy!

What are some ways you make “me time” over the next couple of months and how do you add “calm” to your day? I’m always looking for ways to push the pause button and relax more. Sometimes I get so frantic over the holidays because there’s so much to do – between holiday parties, shopping, decorating, family get-togethers, cooking, prepping, and more – it’s hard to find those moments to slow down and be intentional. But it’s such a beautiful time of year, and I’m so excited for it! My goal is to enjoy the small moments more this year.

If you are interested in trying your own chai tea latte at home, Meijer has a great mPerks offer on their website, which you can find here. They have a few different flavors to choose from, including the original, slightly sweet and sugar-free. Plus, the original and slightly sweet varieties are organic and non-GMO project verified. I found their products on the very top of the shelf in the coffee and tea aisle, in case you can’t find it! I had to stand on my tippy toes, and scale a shelf to snag the last one! I probably looked ridiculous, but it was well worth it. Haha! Let me know if you guys try it out and have any good recipes to share!
