February is quickly becoming my new favorite month... just kidding! I really do love the sunshine we've been getting lately though. It's so pretty and mood-lifting! Plus, it's still light out by the time I get out of work... which is life changing for the blog. So hello! How was your weekend? Ours was pretty good! We didn't do a lot, but it was productive. I got two sets of photos taken, ate super healthy, cooked most of our meals, ran twice for 5K training, completed all of my weekend chores, and settled into the sofa for the Grammys on Sunday night. Lovely, simple weekend.
I just started The Curated Closet, and I'm really excited to work my way through that book. I feel like for the longest time, I knew my personal style and I could describe it very easily. But somewhere along the way, I lost it. I can pin it almost to 2013-2014, got it back for a second in the spring of 2014, and then sort of lost it again. It's not to say I haven't had some outfits I've liked, but overall, I just feel like my style isn't what I want it to be. I struggle with putting together outfits, and my closet feels overwhelming. When I go shopping, I kind of just buy random stuff, most of which I don't end up wearing all that often, which is a total waste. So I'm excited to rediscover my personal sense of style and overhaul my closet.
I've been loving this camel sweater from H&M lately, and when I threw it against this olive maxi skirt, I was like... hm, I might like that outfit! And I do. It's slightly frumpy, mostly because this sweater is a longer length, and I wanted to tuck it up a little bit shorter, but I like how this one turned out. I've been obsessed with longer length styles lately, especially for winter, and I want to hunt down more maxi/midi-length dresses and skirts. Winter is my least favorite time to dress, and I know at the beginning of every year, I say, I'm going to challenge myself this winter! But it never turns out great. The cold temps and brutal winds always win. Thankfully, spring is so close!
I hope you all have a lovely Valentine's Day! Eric and I are still trying a no-dining out challenge (failed a little this weekend, but are back on track) so I'm planning lasagna and garlic bread at home before we head out to a show Eric is playing! I love Valentine's Day, but I also don't put a lot of pressure on it. Whether we go for a fancy dinner out or stay at home and make a homemade meal, it's special either way!
