Hi friends! I hope you all had a great Memorial Day weekend. We spent ours up in Traverse City. Eric was playing shows at Kilkenny's Irish Pub both Friday and Saturday, so we decided to make a little weekend trip out of it! We stayed at a cottage in the middle of Traverse City State Forest (in the middle of nowhere!) but it was fun to sleep in bunk beds and spend time with friends! I had the worst seasonal allergies though over the weekend. I usually don't get them, but this year has been especially bad! So I had to power through that, but it was all good. We got in a little bit of wine tasting, food trucks at The Little Fleet, and strolling along Front Street. I didn't get many pictures, but we'll be back a couple of times this summer!
I ordered this darling woven circle tote from Etsy a few months back... and couldn't wait to get it in the mail! It finally arrived and it's so perfect. I've been wearing it constantly since it arrived. I've been trying to incorporate more accessories and jewelry into my outfits, since all I wear these days are an oversized tee and mom jeans. But I love my style now more than ever! It's a bit more casual these days, but I love everything I wear and feel more comfortable/confident than ever. Plus, I stopped the old blogging habits of buying something solely for the blog and only buy what I absolutely will wear on a daily basis. It's great to have a closet full of pieces you love and all fit together cohesively. I'd definitely recommend The Curated Closet or The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up if you're interested in overhauling your closet/style!
I can't believe we're almost to June already! May flew by, and was a total whirlwind... mostly because of the crazy temperatures we had over the last week. Record highs in the 90s, which is so strange for Michigan! We didn't really get too much of a "spring". It went from ice storms, to a couple of spring days, straight into the hot hot days of summer! But now that Memorial Day has come and gone, and it's "unofficially" summer... I'm really excited. We have a super busy month coming up with lots of shows, fun plans, and trips. I just need to remember to slow down and be intentional with how I eat, take care of myself, spend money, etc. It's easy to want to go nuts in the summer, since you're mostly stuck inside in the winter. But I also can make myself sick by doing too much. I definitely need my down time! I hope you're having a great start to your week... I'll be back soon! xo
