Lincoln Center

On our last day in NYC, we headed to Lincoln Center so I could see the Lela Rose show! I was thrilled to be invited to attend. It was my first time inside to see a show! We had to quickly get there and back to the hotel because our flight was leaving at 2pm, but I'm really glad I made it out. Eric and I snapped a few quick photos outside, grabbed some breakfast at Starbucks and called it a successful trip to NYC! I went pretty comfortable this whole weekend. At least the sunshine was outside this day and I could wear heels. I decided to try something new with these striped pants from StyleMint. I was so inspired  by how Mary-Kate and Ashley styled them up, so I dressed them up a bit with a dark lip, studded heels and a blazer!

As Eric was snapping my picture, two other guys came up to take some shots and I didn't know what to do! Haha! But one of them was super nice and offered to take my picture with Eric, so we actually got one of the both of us! It was awesome traveling with him. I would have been lost that weekend without him helping with photos, handling our luggage through the subway and navigating everything. Plus he makes every situation 1000x more fun and was a hit with everyone we met. It's so nice having a more social boyfriend because sometimes I'm honestly not that social and he forces me to get out of my box. I love that about him.

Samantha Pleet Showroom Opening Party

I was so excited to be invited to attend the Samantha Pleet Showroom Opening Party! I absolutely loved her brand new space, filled with her 2013 A/W collection, photos of the line, inspiration, fabric swatches, vintage furniture and of course, amazing treats. Eric and I sipped on a lemonade gin and got to chat with Samantha herself, her husband and partner, Patrick, and her parents! It was amazing to be there and see the space in person, plus get an early peek at her 2013 A/W collection. I especially loved all of the shoes and boots she designed in collaboration with Wolverine 1000 Mile, especially since they are my neighbors in Rockford, Michigan. So fun! Thanks Samantha for the opportunity to attend!

Day in NYC

Saturday in New York, Eric and I had a bit of free time to do some shopping, check out a few of the sites and meet up with some blogger friends for brunch! I was so excited to meet Mara and Matt of M Loves M, and Steffy of Steffy's Pros and Cons. We met at Prune, but after a crazy wait time, we walked over to Cooper Craft & Kitchen. It was great to catch up with them and eat some yummy breakfast. Afterwards, Eric and I headed to SoHo to do some shopping and stopped to an amazing cacao bar at MarieBelle. We had the best white cocoas and desserts. It was fun day despite jumping over huge puddles from Nemo!

I knew it was going to be freezing, so I packed my warmest tights from Hanes Hosiery, and a giant cardigan along with my most durable boots. I felt a little guilty not dressing up a bit more for the events, but attending fashion week in winter is so much more tricky than fall! When I'm home in Michigan, I'm constantly dressed more for comfort than for fashion, so it just made sense for me to do the same in NYC. I was glad I did too - especially with the storm. I remember Eric and I trying to hail a cab in the middle of it. It was freezing and we were covered in snow! So crazy.

By Misha A/W 2013 Presentation

On our first night in NYC for fashion week, Eric and I both hopped over to the By Misha A/W 2013 presentation at The Highline Loft. We braved it through Nemo to see the presentation and I'm so glad we did. Per usual, By Misha's line was beautifully romantic, always incorporating some type of floral arrangement into the space. Last spring's whimsical garden theme was gorgeous, and she didn't disappoint this autumn with her Letterbox collection. I loved the autumnal colors she used - black, ivory, a tawny camel, deep reds and gold accents. I'm always an adorner of cut out pieces, and a subtle way to show a little skin. Her mixing and matching of different pieces was wonderfully put together and I loved the textures she used, especially in the large sleeves on many of her pieces. Very beautiful! Thank you to Misha Vaidya for the opportunity to attend and see the collection up close!

All photos taken by Eric, thanks love!

Lucky FABB Conference

So, if you didn't already know, I headed out to New York City a couple of weeks ago for fashion week! On the first day there, I attended Lucky Magazine's FABB conference. I absolutely loved last year's conference, so I was really excited to go again! It's never a disappointment. They always have great speakers, interesting panel topics, the best lunches and the biggest swag bag you'll ever receive. I had a great time catching up with old blogger friends and meeting new ones!

I was the worst blogger when I was in NYC and barely even took my DSLR anywhere. So I snapped a lot of iPhone pictures that just didn't turn out. But here's one of my only photos for kicks and giggles (so bad, right?) Oh well, at least I thought to grab some outfit shots. I loved wearing this dress to the conference. It was really comfortable and had pockets, so I could carry my iPhone around all day. Plus, I always love polka-dots!

By Misha S/S 2013 Presentation

I had the amazing opportunity while I was in NYC to preview the By Misha S/S 2013 presentation. It was held at the Alvin Ailey dance studios. I absolutely loved the whimsical garden tea party theme. The twelve-piece collection was full of flowing chiffon, satin and brocade in shades of honeysuckle, mint, marmalade and crΓ¨me brΓ»lΓ©e. Flowers filled the studio, paper lanterns hung from the ceiling and the guests had their choice of wine or tea cocktails from mini mason jars with striped pastel straws. Plus, the picnic-themed cupcakes were adorable. I really enjoyed the collection + thank you to Misha Vaidya for the opportunity to see it up close and personal!

You can totally spot Eric and I in the back of this photo below!
