141 Michigan lighthouses
… and it’s my dream to see all of them.
Since I was 24 years old, I’ve been on a mission to visit every lighthouse in Michigan. What started as a “cute backdrop for an outfit photo” quickly became something much more meaningful. With each new lighthouse came a story — of where I was at in my life, and how I was growing. Seeking out each one has truly been one of the greatest adventures of my life. Along the way, this journey has brought me hope, direction, and something steady to hold onto through seasons of heartache and happiness, solitude and love.
Following the light, slowly and with intention
Now at 38, I’ve visited 107 lighthouses… with 34 left to go. I could’ve rushed through the checklist, but I’ve chosen to savor it — one lighthouse at a time. These beacons have become symbols of hope in my life, often arriving right when I’ve needed them most. As I make my way to the final few, I’m not just finding lighthouses — I’m finding the version of me that feels most at home. And maybe, by the end, I’ll have found both.
